Review Of G. Keiser LAN text,
By
This review is from: Local Area Networks (The McGraw-Hill series in electrical engineering) (Hardcover)
I have been teaching undergraduate classes in Computer Communications, and Local Area Networks for the last ten years. I found Keiser's LAN to be one of the most comprehensive and, at the same time, concise text books in this area. The end-of-chapter problems are quite enlightening. Moreover, the chapter on LAN Access Techniques introduces the student to important concepts such stability, and channel capacity computations in a rigorous mathematical approach. Other chapters cover the basics in a brief and interesting fashion.
