This purchase of Local Butterflies of the San Francisco Bay Area is just what I wanted. It not only covers the Bay Area in CA, in addition it includes the multiple species that course the western coast of our country. I live in southwestern Oregon, on the flank of the Klamath Mountains, and the folder explains and pictures the plants of our natural and cultivated lands that create habitat. By picturing and naming the plants, I can create and protect habitat for the butterflies in their larval and adult stages. It helps to know where to look and what to raise in my own backyard to foster butterfly species.

it is not a book. 12 page foldout with colored pictures of Bay Area Butterflies. Has a small but accurate plant list for nectar and egg laying plants
