Nifty Gadget
I purchased two of these to secure adult trikes (very popular with seniors, and thieves). All said this is terrific for this application, may order more for securing outdoor accessories around my camper. Satisfied with it so far
Alarm is loud, would be easy to defeat by shorting out the wire cable, good deterrent but wouldn't use it to lock up something extremely valuable.

I purchased two of these to secure adult trikes (very popular with seniors, and thieves). All said this is terrific for this application, may order more for securing outdoor accessories around my camper. The description don't clearly indicate, but there are two mounting brackets included, one for mount to flat surfaces, and one for tubular items. The tubular is almost for one specific size, I got lucky in finding a spot where the frame thinned out at the bend where it would just saddle it, using longer screws than supplied. I suspect the size is correct for a "conventional" bike frame (whatever that is). The inside of the U is reinforced with metal, but the "dog" on the lock is plastic, go figure, I guess since it is alarm protected anyway it don't matter if the lock portion fails. Just installed these, will see how they hold up over time. The Warning decal is factory affixed, so if you need to mount it "upside down" (to put cable retainer at top) the label is wrong. The keys are an odd blank style, however the manufacturer offers a registration and key purchase service
