A great rather new rerelease of some nice older Mingus tunes...from his new york sessions, in 1960. I believe most of these tracks were previously sold as an import made from the same sessions (I have on tape). I have always loved this version of the '30s standard "Stormy Weather." On this session in particular, Mingus does some beautifully soulful things with rythem & melody. Worth it for sure.
