My wife is a lock & Lock animal. Reviews are spot on. They are strong, and dont stain. I returned from Iraq without the use of my right arm, and can get in and out of them, and seal them airtight with one hand. One Gimp friendly product. If there was a 10 star Lock & Lock would get. No other brand comes close

Lock & Lock keeps fresh fruits and vegetables fresher for longer than any other storage method I've tried. I've found they work best when the items are put in as dry as possible, so dry them thoroughly and dry off the condensed moisture that accumulates periodically. Strawberries keep for 2 to 3 weeks as fresh as on the day they were bought. Grapes and cherry tomatoes also keep well for 2 to 3 weeks. Lettuce also keeps much longer, as long as you can get it dried; if it isn't dry, it still turns mushy, but it takes longer than if it were just in a plastic bag. I also use Lock & Lock in the pantry for dried fruits and for crackers.

This is my third set of Lock and Lock. I purchased the other 2 from the Q, but they didn't have this configuration. I really like these for storing, freezing, and reheating. They don't stain from tomato products and in the unlikely event you break one, just call the customer service number and they will replace the item, but honestly I've never had one break. I've dropped them and not only don't they break - they don't pop open when they hit the floor. That alone makes them superior over every other plastic storage container!!
Check out my blog for recipes that fit perfectly in the sizes contained in this set. http://blog.GuaranteedGF.com

A friend had one of these, I took down the Lock & Lock name brand and did a search. Got them for something under the tree for my wife and she loved them. All that nasty tupperware, rubbermaid, etc. are going out the door except for a few specialty items. Nice, square/rectangular, they nest in each other well WITH the lids on unlike virtually all the other containers and they seal like champs. I used the little ones to put snacks in for my almost 4 year old son and he can pick one out, open it and reseal it tightly on his own and I wouldn't have tried that one with tupperware and it keeps his chips/popcorn/etc. fresh for the next day.
Go get some. This one and the 17 piece set are a great way to start.

Misleading Item Count, Still a Great Product!,

Although when I ordered this item I was expecting 20 containers and NOT 10 containers with 10 lids, after re-reading the actual product description I realize it does itemize it as so, so it was simply my mistake. I would still deem the item page misleading to a degree.
Either way I am still VERY happy with these containers. Lock & Lock are the best I've ever used and have yet to have any leftover meals spoil, my fruits stay fresher longer and the containers are great for packed lunches or picnics. Highly recommended! One a side note however, I would encourage anyone who purchases ANY Lock & Lock containers to be VERY CAREFUL with the hinges of the lids, they are only plastic after-all and (speaking from past experience) if you don't align the lid properly and try to force the hinges closed, or roughly treat the handle when placing it in the dishwasher or cupboard they CAN and WILL crack.

We had been looking for well built food storage that would not leak. I (husband) was fed up with salad dressing leaking in my lunchbox. We looked at all the options at the local dept stores and felt that the tops fit too loose and they would also leak. We decided to try these out and we are pleased. The tops fit perfectly on all sizes unlike the ones found in the dept stores. My test (the engineer husband) was to fill them with water, snap them shut, and toss them 20ft across the room onto the couch to see if they would leak and they did not. We will be buying more of the these in the sizes that we use most. Would of gave them 5 stars but we think they should be less expensive for what they are made out of, the amount of containers you get, and the fact that they are made in china.

If you could be in love with plastic ware, I would be in love with Lock and Lock. I've given them as presents to fellow cooks and bakers who loved them. I talk about how awesome my Lock and Lock containers so much that a few more people have bought their own set and given them as presents.
I bought 4 sets when they had the buy 3 get 1 free deal. That's 40 total sets of containers and lids. I use them all, for everything. It's just me most of the time so the fact that it keeps all kinds of food fresher, longer makes things much more convenient and economical. I use it for dried goods. The larger square one is great for chips and pretzel sticks. They don't go stale even after a week. I eat small handfuls at a time and don't feel obligated to eat the whole thing before it goes bad. Chip clips don't have anything on these. The smaller ones I use for tea, chocolates, or as small snack packs. I can tell it's keeping the freshness of my peppermint because when the box is closed I don't smell anything. Once open, I am splashed with wonderful peppermint scents. The largest ones, I used for baking. I bake a lot and scooping flour or sugar out of these containers is easy and clean. The tall, rectangle ones are the perfect size for a pound of coffee. As a med student, free time for things like grocery shopping is very rare. I became a true lover when I washed and put away some lettuce before Thanksgiving break. I came back and two weeks later, I still had good lettuce for my sandwiches. Diced green beans I put in a Lock and Lock container lasted longer than the whole beans I left in the crisper. Now I buy more veggies, prep, put them in the fridge and they last for weeks. Grocery shopping happens every 3 weeks and I still have vegetables. Just had a zucchini that I washed, cut, and put away 4 weeks [yes, 4 WEEKS] ago. It was a large zucchini cut quarter. The top cut end did look a little sad, but the rest was fine. I like going to the farmer's market and getting fresh veggies so it's nice to not have to resort to frozen veggies. I also have to stick 3 weeks worth of groceries in the same fridge as 2 other avid cooks. They get groceries once or twice a week. I go every 3 weeks. The fact that it has square edges makes it so much easier. I can fit weeks worth of food on my little shelf. Yes, if you look at my one shelf it is stacked triple, quadrupole tiered all the way to to top! The clear plastic helps a lot. Even when something gets lost in the back for a while, it's okay, since it's usually still good! I eventually dumped the contents of my little jars of pickles and things into small containers so it would fit better. A couple of small containers stacked together and tied with a rubber band makes a good lunch bento. They are much lighter and safer to haul on my bicycle [main mode of transport] than pyrex. Why I love the company: A frozen container fell and the lid shattered to pieces. I took a picture, sent it in with a note, and within a week had a replacement lid. No questions, no hassle, just cost me a stamp. I've never sent anything in for a warranty before, but figure the few minutes of effort and stamp was worth it to get my container back to it's full awesome status. The lids are interchangeable if you're in a pinch, but all of my containers are in regular use. When you use it for everything, 40 sets is not too much!

There are quite a few storage containers that are really good, but lock & locks are the best. I am replacing a lot of them that I lost in a house fire, slow but sure. I am also buying these sets as gifts for family and friends, they love them too!! I don't garden, freeze or bake as much as when the kids were home so I don't need over 6 hundred containers like I had, but I do need a lot. I use them in the kitchen, the pantry, the bath, the closet, the car, the laundry room. I have a nephew that says he hates lock & locks because he helped clean up after the fire and he said everywhere he turned he saw melted lock and locks. I try to always give him cookies for christmas in different style lock & locks. His wife loves them!!! They really are a great products, and except for my nephew, people love getting them as gifts once they have tried them!

I use these at home and camping and also for geocaching. Great rugged containers with unparalleled precision and quality. Beware the knock-offs of these which may not seal as well or break off pieces. These hold up great for containers used in geocaching - yes, that's right, sitting in the outdoors in all kinds of weather for months at a time and keeping contents safe from the elements. Not what the manufacturer expects, I'm certain, but what an endorsement they get from the Geocaching community - use Lock & Locks unless you like maintaining your geocache frequently.
