Book Description

April 1, 1997
This special 28th edition of the popular LOCK ON series focuses on the lines, systems, and personnel of the ubiquitous German Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2 of WWII vintage. Beautiful full color photography not only captures the full view of this magnificent aircraft, but also provides valuable glimpses at such details as the fuselage, wings, landing gear, cowling, tail, pilots, mechanics, cockpit, engine, and much more. This is the most comprehensive photo-documentation of this fully restored aircraft, which unfortunately has since crashed and burned. To top off all of the excellent references, the book is wound-up with a kit review of a 1:48 Hasegawa kit detailed with the VP resin and photo-etched Super Update set, which was based on the comprehensive illustrations found in this book. This book belongs in the collection of every scale modeler, aviation enthusiast, historian, and WWII veteran.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent pictorial book, for modelers, September 16, 2007
This review is from: Lock On No. 28 - Messerschmitt Bf-109G-2 (Paperback)
One of the best softcover pictorials on the famous Bf 109. With a distinct for-modelers flavor, every nook and crany of the plane is shown here in very, very sharp,in focus photographs. Coverage is strictly of 'Black 6', the aircraft that crashed a while back and has seen been restored -these photos are prior to the crash, by the way. Text is limited to photo captions, no historical info is given, but it doesn't have to in order to represent great value to the modeler.
