Finally, the PERFECT Iced Tea Pitcher!,

I'm a fan of Lock & Lock products, so when I was on the search for an iced tea pitcher, I was thrilled to stumble on this. So much so that I even preordered it! I am happy to say that it did not disappoint me. It's just the right height for my top refrigerator shelf but it's shaped so that it would fit on the door (assuming you actually have any room on your door shelves...I know I never do)!
I'm especially enamored with the lid which locks down tight, keeping your beverage free from the encroaching odors and odd flavors from the other items in the fridge. The spout is drip-proof and performs well. The pitcher is dishwasher safe and washes up beautifully. Also the slim and tall design helps disperse the weight of a gallon of liquid so that it's not quite so hard on the wrist. I HIGHLY recommend this product.

Fantastic pitcher!,

I purchased one of these as part of a bundle from another company. I wasn't quite sure whether or not I was going to like the pitcher, as I had actually bought the bundle for the bread box that I couldn't seem to find anywhere at the time. Needless to say, I use the pitcher more than I do the breadbox now! I've seen some negative reviews on this item, and I'd like to take a minute to address a couple of them.
As for the little sealing ring around the mouth, it WILL come loose if you wash it in the dishwasher. I know that L&L is supposed to be completely dishwasher and microwave safe, and it is, but the o-ring will become dislodged if washed in the dishwasher. Instead, I will wash the lid by hand, which only takes a few seconds, and then put the actual pitcher into the washer. I actually do this with ALL of my L&L lids because I am paranoid about the heat in the washer weakening the lid clasps. This may or may not be an issue, but I like to err on the side of caution. :O) I've seen some complaints about the lid not seating properly on top of the pitcher. I used to have an issue with this when I was new to L&L. It seems like everyone is in a rush with the little things these days. I was upset about this same thing when I first began using L&L. I went online and did a little research and read about how to sit the lid on top of the container properly. It only takes a couple seconds more to make sure that the lid is on there right, then you should be able to lock the clasps with no issue. The same can be said for those that say that the clasps are breaking off of the lids prematurely. I have some pieces that are over a year old, and the clasps aren't at all weakened. The footprint of these containers are fantastic. Instead of trying to shove a gallon of milk in my fridge, I always transfer it over into a L&L pitcher. I have two for tea, one sweetened and the other unsweetened. I also have one for juice and another for vitamin water. All of these fit easily on to one shelf and look very tidy. They don't even take up the entire shelf, which is nice. I also buy things like vitamin water in bulk. Since I can't seem to find a big jug of these, and having all of the bottles in my fridge takes up too much space, I will pour all of them into one container and simply recycle the bottles. If I need to go out, I just pour some into my water bottle and take off. If you're someone like me that has a full fridge most of the time, these are great to have in place of the conventional pitchers. Just as you do with anything else that you buy, make sure that you protect your investment and take care of them. All of my L&L lids are stored flat and I've never had any issues. I hope this is helpful! :O)

Decent Pitcher,
By
This review is from: Lock & Lock Storage 1 Gallon Large Pitcher (Kitchen)
I had been looking for a new lemonade pitcher for a little while when I found this one. All in all it works pretty well - I get the occasional drip when pouring and, if you squeeze it too tight while shaking it may leak a little. Other than that, it's pretty spill-proof.
However, my one gripe is that the rubber "gasket" seal (a rubber band really) that is used to seal the spout when closed, comes off quite easily. Most often, it'll just drop into the pitcher or glass you're pouring into so it's not too hard to find. It is quite annoying though.

Fatally flawed O-ring seal,

The flexible O-ring around the spout stopper won't stay in its groove so it just falls off ... sometimes into my juice! And without this O-ring seal the pitcher leaks all over the place when shaking. The "clip" seal for the top is fine, but the pouring stopper just does not work with this flimsy O-ring seal that won't stay in. Even Gorilla Glue failed in my multiple attempts to fix this. Please, re-engineer this seal, then maybe I'll buy another one.

Works great! Ergonomic and easily accessible,

We received two of these today, and we're exceptionally pleased. A gallon of liquid is pretty heavy and unless it's in a correctly-designed container, is very difficult to handle, especially if one is in a wheelchair. However, these pitchers are designed in a way that they fit nicely on the door of the fridge and are easily lifted off, even from the bottom compartment. The seals work great to prevent any drips or spills or leaks. When pouring from them, they don't leak. All in all, these were a great find; we're very happy with them and would recommend them highly to anyone.

Possibly the Best Gallon Pitcher Yet,

The 1st review under the product pretty much has It all down.
This Is perhaps the best pastic sealtight pitcher I have found yet. But the one I was using was pretty bad. And It was not dishwasher safe! THIS IS! It does not have the rounded edges like the other for stirring but more than compensates by being pretty much spill proof, and pours nicely. The only time I find a problem with mine to let buyers know. When you get to the last little bit In the pitcher It spills past your glass and all over. Like not enough liquid for It to pour over the cap right? I have not figured a way around this yet, so be careful the first time around. Otherwise It gets a 10 In all other areas period! I hated to take a star away but they could tweak It a bit. Great Product though! Oh and I love this only takes the space of one pitcher not two. That's why it's design IS SO GREAT!

Leaks too much,

This pitcher lasted about a month before leaking. I have a lot of the same type storage containers and none of them leak, just this one. Perhaps the lack of a good closure all the way around. I always hand wash them. I am truly dissapointed in this product!

Please read the full review as it has been revised.
[First Review] The only redeeming feature of this item is that it is easy to store in the crowed refrigerator. However it is useless as a pitcher. It leaks like a sieve when trying to pour anything. And yes it is sealed correctly and the rubber band of a washer is placed correctly. If this problem could be solved by the manufacturer that it would be a very good item. As for a pitcher I am sorry but I find this item to be utter crap!!!!! Please give this item a miss. [Second Review] Well I NO LONGER find this item to be utter crap!!!!!! Well evidently I got a bad one at first. I sent it back and the next one has not leaked as of yet. So far so good. [Third Review] I have used the first replacement one for about a month and have had no problem what so ever with the product. IT DOES NOT LEAK!!!!!! I now LIKE IT SO MUCH I have ordered another 1 Gal square pitcher. So far so good. The secound pitcher DID NOT LEAK! I will follow this item over a period of time and keep everybody posted with my updated reviews. The first one must have been bad and it was. After reading all the reviews one either loves this item or hates it because it leaks. I would think that are having some problems at mill so to speak and a few leave leaking. Maybe they might want to do a leak check before shipping the item to customers. But because too many reviewers find this a good product I have to just assumed I got a defective item. But because of Amazons hassle free and no cost returns policy I sent mine back and received a leak free replacement. As a Chef I now want to see how this item holds up over long term; Will it clean good in the dishwasher without any damage? Will my Tea stains start showing over time? Will it continue to stay leak free? I hope I will have a positive outcome as I would like to order more of these pitchers. I would like to give this item a five star but with so many people getting leaky ones I can not. Maybe later. By for now..... Well it has been over a year and I have three of these and just ordered another. I am very impressed! The only small problem is you may get one that leaks a little but just SEND IT BACK. Amazon is very good at this and they will send another or refund the amount. I have to say after using for over a year they are still working great. I highly recommend this item to anyone.

Two Thumbs Down,
By
This review is from: Lock & Lock Storage 1 Gallon Large Pitcher (Kitchen)
The lid doesn't seal solidly to the body of the pitcher, thus it leaks all over the counter every time you pour. If the hassle of returning the product weren't so great I'd look into a refund. Certainly not an exchange. Chalk this one up to a lesson in internet shopping. Never again.

Almost perfect - the best we've tried so far,
By
This review is from: Lock & Lock Storage 1 Gallon Large Pitcher (Kitchen)
We have been searching for a pitcher to hold drink mixes such as Crystal Light for a while. The completely removable lid and fridge-friendly shape, along with the lock & lock brand were enough to make us buy. We are quite satisfied.
Based on reviews, we always make sure to keep the seal in the right spot and to hold the lid down while vigorously shaking. It may not be necessary. I've purchased a few of these. I did accidentally damage one by turning the lid too far one too many times. Once that happened, a little tab snapped off and now it doesn't stay open when you open the lid. The others have remained sturdy and reliable. Just don't pull the lid too far back and this will be the perfect lemonade container. |
