Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a total redo of my initial review which gave the Locksaf 1 star because it had what I assume a bad scanner-reader. I could not get the safe to open with any consistency. I am amending my rating to 5 stars because of 2 things. One, is for the way the Blade Shop handled my issues by shipping me a new unit with a shipping label to send the old one back, no questions asked. Secondly, the new unit works flawlessly and deserves 5 stars, IMO.
As to the customer service, here's more. The new unit had a nice handwritten note from Keysha, an employee of Blade Shop apologizing for my trouble and giving me the name and number of Keith, the owner of the Blade Shop to call if I had further problems. I did call to ask a question about which box I should ship back to him and we ended up chatting for about 20 minutes. Nice guy. He was aware of my review and said that Rick, the owner of Locksaf had seen it too and had called him to make sure he did everything possible to make me happy because he knows his product is the best on the market now and the problems with my unit were an anomaly. It appears that that is the case as my new Locksaf works just as advertised and I am completely satisfied that I bought the right biometric safe.
If you are in the market for a biometric safe you should pull the trigger on this one. You will more than likely get a perfect unit, but if there's a problem you're in good hands with either the Blade Shop or Locksafe because they will make it right for you. Thanks for reading.

I bought this because i wanted a biometric safe that had a key backup
If you've looked, there are only a few that fit this bill.
I've had it for about 3months.
I chose this model b/c there are no reports of the locking mechanism failing, unlike
a main competitor.
The safe was sold out on the manufacturer's website, at retail price. Delivery off Amazon was
no problem.
Registration of two fingerprints was simple, and the device is pretty reliable.
It is not 100% reliable on the first read, probably more like 75%, a second attempt will
always get it open. It's fast, but not instantaneous. Also, it makes a click as it opens.
If you think you need to be able to open a safe silently, with 100% accuracy (one read), and instantaneously, you will be disappointed.
On the other hand, if you need a reliable biometric safe that works well, and has a back up in case of failure, you'll find this perfect.
If you've looked, there are only a few that fit this bill.

Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this gun safe for my husband for Christmas. He wanted to keep his handgun and clip in his nightstand for easy access, but out of the hands of our two little boys. This Biometric safe works like a charm...very easy to program with our index fingerprints (took just minutes to do for both of us) and has opened instantaneously every time. I test it out every now and again, just because it works so well. You press an activating button that lights up the fingerprint scanner and then swipe your finger. It's a very sturdy, hefty metal box with a nice thick foam pad and plenty of room for a gun (or two) and several clips. It also comes with keys to open the safe. We are both very happy with this product.

This is the the best for the money!
The cross-key type of lock is much better than the cheap wafer locks on off-the-shelf pistol safes. This is well built out of heavy gauge steel. Read more
