Locke & Key is by far one of my favorite comic book series in years, but I'm sure that anyone who likes magic and mystery will enjoy the stories told in this series. The series is about the Locke family who find magically keys in their house after their father dies. The cool thing about these keys is that each one does something different. Some of which have very dark and powerful magic. This edition comes in a slipcase set that Includes all six softcover volumes. The bottom line is that this is one of the best comic book series in recent years, but on top of that this set is just so cool. I can't stress enough that this is a must read for all sci-fi, magic, and mystery fans.

Amazing! First contact I have with this comic was when IDW put the first volume for free in comixology, after that I was hooked, and waiting to have this set in my hands, hoping to have all of the six volumes to sit and read them all, now I have. First of all, this is a work of love, and it shows, starting with the amazing detailed covers, I bet yo can take a look at the covers of all of you other tpb's and you won't find anything like it. You start to care about the characters since issue one, you start to worry for all of the Locke family and their history, Hill creates the an atmosphere where you will be afraid to turn off the lights after reading vol. 1. Now I wasn't sold in the artist when I first saw it, but now I can't imagine another artist on this task. Gabriel Rodriguez built a complete universe and he make me laugh and deel scare with his work, and don't say it to anybody but he make me cry a little bit. If you are going to read anyting before the end of the year, please pick this one

I love this series. It is incredibly well written and the art is fantastic. Gabriel Rodriguez is incredibly talented and his teamwork with Joe Hill often feels more like watching a movie than reading a comic. I have gotten my friends who don't even like comic books hooked on this series. I would recommend this not only to avid comic book enthusiasts, but fantasy lovers as well.

The product itself is great. A great, sharp case for solid books. The savings are great, too. At $20/book individually, you're saving 50% if you bought them separately.

Absolutely the best graphic novel I've read in years. I love Saga, Chew, Invincible, Hawkeye, Sex Criminals, and I redeemable. If you appreciate any of those innovative titles and don't mind some "Lovecraftian" horror, this is the series for you.

I've had this for a week now and I absolutely love it. I finished the very last volume last night and was blown away by the finale. This is something I'm going to read and reread, again and again for years to come. Can't wait until they come out with an omnibus of the entire run, but that's beside the point.
If you've done your research on Locke & Key, you already know how acclaimed the collection is.

It's a cerebral smorgasbord of wonders and psychological intrigue -- towing the line somewhere between heartwarming nostalgia, and gut-wrenching nightmares -- wrapped up in a mysterious, impeccably illustrated little bow.

The slip case nothing to write home about; 'just some cheap cardboard to keep them together. My only qualm, if you can call it that, is that since the volumes are paperback, it takes a bit of care getting them back into the case without bending them.

Having said that, even if you're not a fan of comics and/or graphic novels in general, I'd STILL recommend investing in this collection. Stories like these are just too few and far in between to pass up. So, so rare (especially amongst the jaded, hackneyed land of eternal remakes we're living in nowadays). Hell, the artwork alone* is worth the price of admission.

Regardless, this series is highly recommended, and worth every last penny. Slipcase or not.

"Goodness grape juice", what a story!

High school senior Tyler Locke is devastated when his father is murdered and his family moves to their ancestral home in Maine: Key House. It turns out that one of Tyler's ancestors was a locksmith who made magical keys that unlock amazing doors and abilities, but only for children. Tyler's little brother Bode accidentally unlocks an unimaginable horror whose deceptively friendly face masks its cunning and depravity. When Tyler and his sister Kinsey realize what they are truly facing, they have to fight their own fears and shortcomings and make some heartbreaking choices to defeat a seemingly indestructible evil that threatens everyone they love with eternal pain and terror.

I don't usually read graphic novels, but WOW! This series is a knockout!

**This story contains adult themes and language.

The last three days, I didn't do a whole lot of work at my job, I just enjoyed this masterpiece. Wow. What a story... I couldn't say enough good things on the series. This will always be one of the main things I recommend to anyone looking for something to read. The writing and art went so well together, it just felt like one great piece of fantastic fiction, cohesive and whole. From the beginning to the end, I just couldn't put it down, and in the end, I even got emotional (a little teary eyed), which is quite rare for me when reading.
If I didn't like one thing about Locke & Key, it's just that it now made everything else I've ever given 5/5 stars only a 4 or 4.5 at best. Locke & Key is in a class all by itself and from now on, this is the standard for which everything else will be measured.
