Incredible!!!

Locke is an Esper (super human attributes and stuff) and a loner. He likes to keep a low profile but because he has such tremendous attributes (eg. he is immortal) the government puts him on a mission to save the Earth from an other Esper who seeks to dominate the Universe. Incredible battles and cool music and sound for its time.
A masterpiece. Buy it or rent it!!!

This is yet another anime about espers, human beings who possess strange psychic abilities, of whome Locke is the most powerful. The plotline is one that X-Men fans will recognize as espers are generally feared and hated by humanity. Somewhat epic in scale, the story is about a female esper who is trying to lead younger espers in a war against normal humans who fear and hate them. Sound familiar?

Anyway, I don't believe the plot was directly stolen from the comic book. Relatively old for an anime, the similarities are probably just a coincidence. However, there are certain scenes that really make you think, and the animation is good for its time.

I recommend this film, and if you happen to be a big fan of esper anime, then this is a must see. Your knowledge of the genre will be sorely incomplete without it. :o)

IN MY OPINION, THIS MOVIE IS THE ANTECEDENT OF TO MANY SERIES, LIKE HEROES, 4400, BUT IN THE FUTURE!!!

"Locke the superman" is one of those rare films that somehow captures the essense of cheesy Drama and Prepetuated action that,you can't help but enjoy and wacth over and over again! If you like like the whole "the existence of the planet rides on the shoulders of one man" type of movies. you'll LOVE this movie!
