5.0 out of 5 stars Am I strong enough to cross the line and take a chance on love?, January 16, 2012
This review is from: Locked and Loaded (Men of Delta Force) (Mass Market Paperback)
Special Agent Sage Wagner is so far undercover she cannot see daylight. Living as the mistress to a drug kingpin is at worst frightening and at best terrifying. Sage has it completely under control because she is on this mission to not only bring the bad guys down but also take them out permanently. Her family was murdered in a random act of violence and Sage intends to make sure they feel the same pain she has.

What Sage never expected was Captain Anthony Davis to make her lose her focus and realize that there is something besides the job to live for. The encounter first encounter was anything was a smooth transition into a relationship but setting the tone early on of who is alpha always helps. Sage is also nothing Anthony expected but it turns out everything he could want. She shows her strength by playing her part so well, yet in his arms all the passion and desire could not be more real for both of them. They know their jobs are important but when they kiss, the priorities seem to shift enough to let love in and warm their hearts.

There is no room for error on either Sage or Anthony's part and both know the risks they are taking. However, all is not well in the house of deceit and with traitors turning the tide of events in another direction who will be the last one standing.

If you want an action packed book look no further than Locked and Loaded starts with a bang and never stops. This is my first in The Men of Delta Force Series and will not be the last because I love characters that show their strength and weaknesses. With Sage and Anthony suffering has made them stronger and more determined to set things right in the world. Doing whatever they have to is just part of the job that they do, and do very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars high octane romantic thriller, January 4, 2012
This review is from: Locked and Loaded (Men of Delta Force) (Mass Market Paperback)
Although her brain reminds her of a conflict of interest, her heart insists DEA agent Sage Wagner destroys Miami drug lord Roberto Salazar for the murders of her family. Thus his deal with Anwar Assad of Afghanistan and al Qaeda connections enables Sage to persuade her superior to go undercover. Her plan is to become Alazar's mistress in order to rip off his male anatomy.

Delta Force Captain Anthony Davis' mission to prevent an arms deal with terrorists crashes with Sage's quest. Neither is happy over their encounter as he assumes she is throwaway candy until she uses martial art ninja fighting moves to show she has no time for an outside intrusion. However, once they compare notes, they team up as Davis acknowledges her inside game while Wagner acknowledges the need to keep civilians safe; both acknowledge their attraction must remain on the back burner until they complete their mutually inclusive missions.

The latest Men of Delta Force (see Sizzle and Burn) high octane romantic thriller is an action-packed tale from the moment the protagonists collide and never slows down as the pair tries to take down an odious Miami mobster running the drug trafficking and abetting terrorists. Filled with twists, fans will relish Locked and Loaded as the romance simmers while destroying the mutual target remains the focus of the lead pair and the audience.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!!, February 12, 2012
This review is from: Locked and Loaded (Men of Delta Force) (Mass Market Paperback)
LOCKED AND LOADED by Alexis Grant is an action packed romantic suspense. I t is the 2nd book in "The Men of Delta Force",but can be read as a stand alone. See,"Sizzle and Burn". "Locked and Loaded" is a fast paced, adventure filled story written with details and with characters that will have your heart pumping as DEA agent Sage Wagner tries to save her man. And trained Delta Force Captain Anthony Davis tries to find a traitor. This is the first book I have read by this author but it will not be my last. She has written a sizzling story where Delta Force men meet their match with the passionate, strong women of their lives. What an amazing, story of military life, the danger they face, and the women they love. "Locked and Loaded" is a must read. This author has written a high octane, story that will have you biting your nails and sitting on the edge of your seat as these two strong-willed people try to stay alive and bring down a traitor. Received for an honest review from the publisher.Details can be found at St. Martin's Paperbacks and My Book Addiction and More/My Book Addiction Reviews.

4.0 out of 5 stars Locked and Loaded, February 9, 2012

Original Review to be found here -[...]

Perfectly paired couple alert! - Give a woman with a vendetta against a drug lord and a man trained to track down and capture terrorist the same assignment and BOOM! Fireworks!

I love that this was an unpredictable book. Every single part of it just about. On one hand, you have a trained DEA agent dead set on revenge against the very drug lord who killed her family in a random act of violence. Throw in a Delta Force Captain who is after someone in the Drug Lords crew and man oh man, do you have one whopping book!

Sage is an an amazing lead female. I love reading about women who can hold their own and are damn near as strong, if not stronger than the male leads they are paired with. She will do anything to bring down the man who killed her family, and she gets that chance when she is assigned to go undercover and get into his operation to help bring it down. Once inside, she plays her part as the drug lords girlfriend while gathering information on his shipments, meeting points, etc.

Enter Delta Force Captain Anthony Davis. While tracking someone from overseas and getting info that he is in fact dealing with this drug lord, he is assigned to take him out. Once inside the compound to secretly set up video cameras, he encounters Sage. No where in his briefing of the case was it mentioned there was an undercover inside the operation.. Now, plans change.

The one thing this book does that the others haven't, was focus more on the action and plot of the book, and not the romance. Don't get me wrong, the romance was still there, but Vendetta and Revenge are the names of this book! I loved watching the action unfold page after page.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nail Biting, Put the Book Down and Breath, January 29, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
As I read, I kept thiking it read like a Leslie Esdaile Banks book. I was pleasantly surprised to discover Alexis Grant was one of her pen names. I personally will miss her staccato, hit it like a 70's Black explosion movie type of writing. Now for the book. OMG - ACTON, ACTION, ACTION! I had to set the book aside a few times so my heart rate would calm down. I love the way the bad guys got theirs and the lovers got theirs as only Alexis (Leslie) could do. Great read if your health can stand it.
