It arrived promptly and was easy to install. It's a good heavy weight and feels very secure. Originally I was looking for the type that slides down the handles but that type was almost double the price and then you'd be installing and removing it each day. This is easy to open and close and you never have to store it during work hours--it stays attached. We would definitely buy this product in the future. We also bought the padlock by the same manufacturer that was recommended. It has a heavy and secure feel to it also.

This product offers excellent security for a relatively economical price.

My metal filing cabinet, purchased from a leading office supply store, was not equipped to handle a filing cabinet lock. The lock punch-out was there but was apparently for show. What to do?

I turned to Amazon for a locking bar and came across this item. The YouTube installation video sold me. I was not paying much attention to the clock, but I estimate less than 20 minutes to install. Although the locking bar ships with a drill bit, you may want to use one of higher quality. The bit broke while drilling the third hole.

I also recommend using a phillips head drive bit to secure the mounting screws.

Just need to purchase a lock for this and I am good to go!

Purchased this locking bar for a filing cabinet whose core lock got trashed. I have been using locking bars on my filign cabinets at work for years and they have wokred out great. The cabinets at work had a locksmith install the locking bars for $140 for 2 cabinets. When I saw that I could purchase these items myself and install them to save some money I was elated. The product is very well engineered and directions are well written. It took me about 30 minutes to install. You need a power drill, small drill bit, and a phillips head screwdriver. If you can drill a hole and screw a screw that is most of the job right there. Remember that it doesnt come with a lock so you must purchase it separately.

I would buy again. My file cabinet is out of square so I have a little hard time locking, but it locks and nobody can get in.

The instructions that came with it are pretty good, install took me 30 min. I put this on my 15 year old HON 4 drawer vertical file. When drilling holes you'll end up with metal or wood shavings on the floor, may want to throw down newspaper to catch them. This is a well-designed product, and it lets me use a combo lock with my filing cabinet instead of a key lock (keys get lost in my house). It came with a drill bit, which saved me the trouble of finding mine.

I purchased this to lock my important files in a cabinet that is in a band rehearsal space. Many people are in the room that this filing cabinet is in and I cannot risk some sesative business documents getting stolen or exposed. This is performing its duties well for the past year.

When I received the locking bar it came with "you tube" instructions on how to install the locking bar easily. The website is FileLockingBar dot com. The secret to not breaking the drill bit is to hold steady pressure while drilling and don't let the drill bit bend. It takes 30 seconds to drill through the steel with a 19.2V battery powered drill. I set my torque to 5 on the drill to insert the screws with a #2 Philips head bit. It was a 10 minute job after watching the 8 minute Video. Very good instructions and I would purchase from them again.

The product proved to be excellent. Watched the Utube video and the installation was a breeze. Took less than 10 minutes. Would recommend this product.

Completely satisfied with product - met my needs . . . review installation video for relatively easy installation - may have struggled had I only used written directions - this purchase saved me from buying a new lockable cabinet - a savings in money & effort!

I was bewildered by the handle installation but did figure out where that went after about 5 minutes. The rest was very easy, drill bit worked fine, lock is very high quality and sturdy. LOVE IT!!! Sharon
