Sent a question to seller and was surprised to receive a prompt reply. Package arrived quickly and was well packaged. Installation took approximately 20 minutes (2011 Forester) including double checking everything. While I'm sure the OEM might be fancier looking I don't plan on leaving this on the car all the time and at a fraction of the cost you'd be a fool not to give this system a try. Bars are securely attached and seem well made for the price.

I don't normally write reviews but thought the 3 star review was a bit misleading as they were satisfied with the purchase but only gave it 3 stars. Glad I gave this item a chance instead of ordering a more expensive one.

I'd say noise is negligible overall and installation wasn't too bad. The car does require the longer anchor bolts that came in the package, and assembly took about 40 minutes, granted that also included measuring the width between the rails and supervision from my 6 year old. I also like it because it is compatible with my Thule bike racks that I use on my other Subaru. This is a bargain when compared with factory options as well as those from Yakima and Thule. Keep an eye on the endcaps though, I'm adding some superglue to them because they seem to have worked their way out just a little when driving on the interstate.

One other note, I found that using a metric ratcheting wrench was key in the assembly. Even with the long bolts the rack and angle was not enough to use the plastic fasteners included in the package.

I found the directions were not as clear as I would have liked but I figured it out and every thing fits well I have had no issues with wind noise, Seems to be well built and at least at strong if not stronger the OEM at 3-4x the price. Great value very Happy with the product would recommend it to anyone, I have not tried to attach any other accessories to the racks so I have no opinion on that aspect.
Locking racks at this price - Can not beat it.

The rack is a little wimpy compared to the solid steel bars of the yakima, but for light duty, small kayak/canoe they get the job done. Very easy to mount. Overall, great product for the price.

I was excited to be able to pay less than $100 for cross bars, but I would not make this purchase again. These cross bars do the job, but have to significant drawbacks.

1. They were very difficult to install on my 2013 Subaru Forester. With the longer bolts, I had to use all of my strength to get the mounts on the side rails. There is no way my wife could have done it. Also, with the proper hex nuts all the way loosened, sliding the crossbars through the mounts was very difficult, and I was afraid of breaking them at one point. I will definitely not be removing these crossbars on a regular basis.

2. They are very noisy on the highway. My wife mentioned increased noise, but said it didn't bother her. When I finally rode in the car however, I was surprised to discover how noisy they are. We now have to use raised voices in the car to carry on a conversation.

We have previously used some Subaru cross bars that we borrowed form a friend, and they were far easier to install and remove, and made no noticeable noise.

Overall, I would recommend saving your money, and getting better quality crossbars. It's worth it.
