Book Description

LOCO MOCO is the third book in the ever-popular Darby Stansfield series.

The world's only consultant to the criminal underworld has just experienced his closest brush with death yet, and wonders if it's time to quit the biz.

In need of some serious soul searching, Darby Stansfield and his girlfriend, Izzy Weber, set off for a summer surfing adventure in Hawaii. But what the land of Aloha offers instead, is the same temptations he's eager to escape. Hoping to resist the lure of the local gang, Darby focuses on improving his relationship with Izzy. All is fun in the sun until their beach house is broken into.

From there, the mysterious threats begin to escalate, forcing Darby to hire a local private detective. Between the PI working the case and the security improvements made around their beach cottage, the ideal summer appears to be back on track. Wrong.

What they don't realize is that a stranger is watching them and someone is going to die.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Twist and turns, and an incredibly interesting ending that I did not see coming. Loved the entire series. Keep 'em coming!" -- Literary R&R

"Suspense with just a bit of absurd... a fun book for a reading group."-- SeattlePI

An Amazon Best Seller in Police Procedural and Romantic Suspense.

Readers have described the series as Tarantino meets The Office with a splash of romance. If you haven't read Chop Suey or Stroganov, give it a try. They've both been Amazon Best Sellers topping two top 100 lists.

4.0 out of 5 stars another delightful read with a lovable scoundrel May 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Darby once again gets involved with telecommunications for organized crime. This time the setting is the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii and his clients run gambling and cockfighting. We get a much greater appreciation for his girlfriend Izzy [Isabella] and Darby's character is also being developed.

Ty Hutchison does not fall into the trap of making the criminals lovable or admirable - they are portrayed as mostly sleezy. But there is something lovable about the scoundrel tech salesman Darby Stansfield and I am looking forward to the next novel about his adventures.

There is a twist or two that I didn't see coming which attests to the author's cleverness and ingenuity. The only negative - The disposition of the two separate killers really didn't hold together very well.

But all in all a good and fun read.

5.0 out of 5 stars my favorite May 26, 2012
By Erica
Format:Kindle Edition
I'd have to say that loco moco is my favorite of the darby books. It really develops darby's personal life and makes you like darby even more than before. He is finally trying to escape from his crazy life in Hawaii, but he just can't seem to get away. Most of all, I love his girlfriend izzy! She is kick ass and is just plain likable. Definitely recommend!

I received an complimentary copy of the book from the author to review.

Like a great painting, the author uses bright colors when necessary, and tones down when necessary. Well written and a most enjoyable read!!

This book was fun. We have stayed on the north beach area of Oahu several times. I find the location familiar, the characters much like several we have met in the area.
