I think that the nature of this group is hit-or-miss....,

I was surprised when I saw that this album was out that it was out and that I'd never heard of it.... Having heard that it existed, I had to go out and buy it....Having done that, I have to agree with the other reviewers here that this group is very hit-or-miss. A few songs on this track are as good as ANY they have done-- the cover of 'Microphone Fiend' by Eric B. & Rakim being one of their best yet. However, there are other songs that don't jive with me, most notably the first track on this album.... I don't know that there is anything wrong with that. Most of their albums are like that: you like 80% of their stuff and think that the rest is trash; different listeners disagree on what is good and what is bad. Fans of the band are going to still buy this album: it's about the best kinda lay around and just listen music there is. It's someplace-- a very agreeable place-- to sit and listen to the words... cause there ain't too much more like this.....

FLC fans must buy this record!,

Okay, it's only available as an import right now... I paid extra for Mimosa and I have to admit I regret it. But the boys are back in full force on this one... once again doing it all. This thing is all rock, hip-hop, and schmoove, baby. After a few listens, here are my favourites: Half a Block, She's my Friend, and Bump will at least put a grin on your face... guaranteed.

For my money (and it got my money), Loco is FLC's finest yet. Not sure why it's only available as an import though. Swashbucklin' in Brucklin' is funky and hilarious - what FLC is all about. The same again for Bump and The Biz. For a peek into FLC's sensitive side, listen to Underground. There's a lot more here that catches the attention, so keep you ears open. These guys need appreciation.

Best Offering to date from FLC,

Loco is definitely the best offering yet from New York based Fun Lovin' Criminals. On the opening track 'Where the Bums Go', they turned up the guitars, and tried a bit of heavy metal and funnily enough it works. This album contains the usual humour that FLC are so good at, just listen to 'Swashbucklin' In Brooklyn' and the country and western song 'Dickholder' and you'll see what I mean. Brilliant, if you liked their past albums you'll love this!

FUN LOVIN CRIMINALS: UNDERRATED,
By
This review is from: Loco (Audio CD)
FUN LOVIN CRIMINALS is a group that is underrated, especaily in the US. They have a total of 3 albums(not including the remix album MIMOSA). (...) When i listen to theyre songs i just go with the flow. FLC mix rap/rock or whatever is out there and come up with stronge and beautiful tracks while at the same time keeping a style which they can call theyre own. JUST LISTEN TO ONE OF THEYRE ALBUMS AND YOU'LL UNDERSTAND WHAT I MEAN. MY favourite 11 tracks from LOCO:1-SWASHBUCKLIN IN BROOKLYN 2-KILL THE BAD GUY(not listed, just wait a little after the final track) 3-RUN DADDY RUN 4-LOCO 5-THE BIZ 6-BUMP 7-MICROPHONE FIEND 8-MY SIN 9-HALF A BLOCK 10-THERE WAS A TIME 11-SHE'S MY FRIEND To the USA: STOP IGNORING GREAT TALENTS

The musical equivalent of hyperkinetic,

FLC, they nail it more often than not in this here album. Thing is, when they nail it, they then proceed to un-nail it fast. Why? I don't know, I guess it's their musical quest or something. Some cuts here are fun, fun, funkeee (Microphone Fiend is just one)some are for, for, forgettable. It's always been that way with them, I own all their albums.
