The watch is very very nice, exactly how it was represented. Our problem is that after being here barely 2 weeks, the watch has stopped working. The second hand moves very sparactically and does not keep time at all. I am planning to have a jewler test the battery to be sure it is good, hopefully that is all that is wrong. If not How can I get it made good?

Just got the watch today and I am not sure it is the gold plated one I ordered. It looks more like the gold "tone" model and since there was no documentation on the order slip and no markings on the watch, there is no way to be sure which one it is. Also leading me to assume it is the gold tone is that on the inside cover of the watch it has a large metallic type scratch/discoloration. Lastly, the manufacturer is not dutray but "Luis cardini", which also makes me wonder what I really got.

I ordered this item a few weeks ago. It arrived in due course, but I was annoyed to find that it was cheap and flimsy, had a black face and simply did not tell the time at all, even with a new battery. I posted a negative comment here on Amazon, but now have good reason to change my mind. After the review appeared, the company called me but I was unable to answer. A few days later, a replacement watch arrived, exactly the same as the one I had ordered. But the major surprise was that a >second< watch also arrived, a much sturdier (and probably more expensive) pocket watch with a white face (making it easier to read in low-light conditions) and a much superior watch chain. This company is run by diligently honest people and deserves your patronage.

The watch by itself works. But I bought this watch specifically for the chain for use with another watch of similar design.

Due to the fact that it is very difficult to get particular types of pocket watch chains online especially of colors other than sterling silver I decided to buy the watch.

but the chains hook that connects to the watch bent when trying to un-clip it and it ended up braking off when I removed the chain from the watch. very disappointing

This watch is a Great quality watch. It looks authentic, it feels authentic, and the watch works very well. This is a watch that will last you a long time. I can tell you from personal experience, this watch has been through a lot, and it's still an incredible pocketwatch
