THis game was a great game on the comodore 64. now on the PC, it has great backgrounds, Music, and effects. Still the same great game. Most importantly, allowing yoou the user to create your own boards. Hours of creative entertainment.

I used to play this game all the time!
It works great on my Windows XP. It offers challenging and fun levels (mostly challenging) and includes an awesome level editor.

Definately worth looking into if your a fan of challenging action/puzzle/arcade games.

I ordered this as a gift for someone who is a die hard Lode Runner fan. She was very excited to get the game, but doesn't play it very often because you can NOT save your progress. Each time you play you have to start over from level one and that's not so fun when you get to an upper level that is really hard to beat.

Years ago I had Lode Runner on another computer. It was the old version like this one. After that computer crashed I could no longer get Lode Runner I and had to settle for Lode Runner II. Lode Runner II has much better graphics etc. but I still preferred the old version. Now that I have Lode Runner I, I am again enjoying all the fun and frustration of playing it. It is well worth the purchase.

This is an incredible game! I finally found it after looking for it for about 5 years (not obsessively, just casually looking) and bought it! It's a REALLY fun game! I highly recommend buying it if you can find a copy!

Gotta love the classics! The game is back and better than ever. There were 2 differences from the version built into my old Compaq computer, such as the music having a twang to it (which I don't care for) and the sound effects causing a 1 second delay in the action. That's why I have to turn them off because it's so annoying. I don't know if it's a problem with the game, the disc, or my computer. Also, there were no SPECIFIC directions in the booklet on how to install it. I had a heck of a time trying to figure that out. But once I did, it was more than worth it! And although no sound effects puts a major damper on things, this game is one of my all-time favorites!
