Yes it is suitable for glass top ranges. Caution: do not scoot it or pull it across top of stove or you'll scratch the glass. Always lift the cookware to move it.

I had some discoloration in some other enameled dutch oven but I have never had anything come off. I found that if I used a gentle paste of SoftScrub or purchase products ( Lecrueset) made for this I have very little discoloration. I have used enameled cast iron for years.

Yes, it can as it is a metal alloy. Lodge's website lists: Knobs are oven safe to 500°F.

I'm surprised to hear yours stains. We've cooked everything in ours and it has absolutely no staining or apparent wear. Maybe you got a defective item?
