5.0 out of 5 stars Garlic Magic
This tiny skillet fits in the palm of your hand. I wasn't too sold on it until I found the ultimate use for it. Roasting garlic.

You fill the tiny pan with peeled cloves of raw garlic, shoot in some olive oil and a pinch of salt, and put it on low heat. The garlic cooks in the tiny oil bath yielding awesome roasted garlic, as well as delicious garlicy...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great item, but I thought it was a little larger too
There is nothing "wrong" with this item, persay. But, I too thought it was a bit bigger than it actually is. I was quite amused to get it in the mail and find that it is, in total just 4/5 inches long, including handle, rather than the general way skillets are measured, which is diameter of the pan itself. I wish I had known, but got some good ideas of how to use it from...

I'm buying these for stocking stuffers this year.

5.0 out of 5 stars great for breakfast sandwich, January 22, 2009

The reason I ordered this item was so I could prepare sausage, whipped eggs and biscuit sandwiches for breakfast on the go. These little beauties are the perfect size. Just line them up on the burner, pour in the eggs, and cook on low/med heat. The sausage can either be pressed into and cooked in the miniature skillets as well, or used the skillets as a press so the sausage will be the same size as the egg. Cook while you bake the biscuits. This and a small slice of cheese and you have a mouth full of heaven on the way to work. Sure, it's a specialty item and probably not one you'd use for everything...but then again that's part of the fun of cooking. BTW, love the garlic idea

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun little skillet for biscuits, pies, and more, April 2, 2011

Length:: 2:42 Mins

I recently decided to try all of Lodge's small skillets, the 3.5, the 5, and the 6.5 inch. Of all three, this is the only one that I will not be using on a regular basis. For my needs, it's just too small. Still, it serves a purpose.

I made this short video to show this tiny skillet in action. I hope that it is helpful to you!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Lodge Mini Skillet, December 1, 2007
This review is from: Lodge Logic 3.5-Inch Miniature Skillet (Kitchen)
I love miniature items...this skillet is perfect for spoon rest, wall
decoration and perfectly fine for cooking.
My grandchildren love the personal cornbread serving. perfect for their
tiny hand...it's not quite as deep as a muffin tin.
When the price is right, I intend to order 8 more for a cool dozen!

I first bought it to hang next to the large skillet; as a joke. But then I made a sausage, biscuit, egg sandwich one day and..... perfect! BUT- there is only me. If you have a slew of kids than those non-stick baking rings may be your answer. They tell you it is only 3 inches wide, so don't be like this one lady who bought it anyway and then gave a negative review on how small it was. If you don't know what 3 inches is, than ask your husband.

I bought it for use in melting butter or margarine in the kitchen. It's perfect for that, but would also make a nice ash tray (ugh) or accent with other country kitchen decor items. Very nice.

I have seen this skillet presented to a fisherman at his retirement party. This is a guy who is known for frying up the small ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for tadka, February 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lodge Logic 3.5-Inch Miniature Skillet (Kitchen)
I bought this item exclusively for making tadka (spices tempered in oil in Indian cooking). This is very small, the perfect size for one batch of tadka dal with 1-2 tsp of cumin or mustard seeds (and maybe some curry leaves, haven't tried yet). It takes up practically no space in my space-challenged kitchen, so I don't feel guilty about using it for just one purpose, as an experienced cook once told me to do. It heats very evenly and quickly, and I just wipe it out with a paper towel while it's still warm. I think it's pre-seasoned (looks that way) but I couldn't find that information on the Lodge site. It's very inexpensive and will last forever!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for egg McMuffin, October 27, 2008
This review is from: Lodge Logic 3.5-Inch Miniature Skillet (Kitchen)
Like another reviewer has already said, what do you expect when the description said miniature skillet? The price should have been a dead giveaway and it almost is. A really great price for great quality. I scramble 1 to 2 eggs depending on the size egg I happen to have on hand and cover the skillet with a saucer or salad plate to styeam the egg till solid. With a little ham, a sausage patty, or two strips of cut up bacon and a slice of cheese, one can enjoy a better sandwich than can be found at the local hamburger place. I just don't understand any complaints about this great deal. I'm sure I will find many additional uses.

This review is to those reviewers who have a misconception of what a 3.5" skillet is supposed to be,Lodge's stated dimensions are right on the money and cannot be blamed for you expecting the product to be larger than you thought so check the posted photos and you will see for yourself that the stated size is accurate and in defense of Lodge remove your negative & inaccurate posts.this is another great Lodge product.
