5.0 out of 5 stars Tried & true!
Love cast-iron ... Lodge makes great quality cast iron. Not only does cast iron cook the best ... it has steady heat properties that make it a staple in the kitchens of those that love to cook. As a tween & teen, I was in charge of making the corn bread. We either used a cast-iron skillet or this cornstick pan. The cornsticks were my favorite ... especially for soup...

3.0 out of 5 stars Too small
My mother makes the best crunchy cornbread sticks. I bought this to try and replicate hers. While she makes homemade cornbread, I use Jiffy corn muffin mix for the convenience plus my husband likes the taste. Using the Jiffy mix I have quite a bit of batter left over. The description listed the dimensions but I didn't do the math. I just went back to using muffin tins or...

The cornsticks were my favorite ... especially for soup. Now, that I have a teenager that loves to cook ... this pan brings back wonderful memories.

Cast iron stands the test of time! It won't need to be replaced in my lifetime or in the next generation. That's why you see it at garage sales sometimes. If you own or inherit rusted cast iron ... don't throw it away! All it needs is a steelwool scrubbing/washing & elbow grease to get rid of the rust and a little oil & heat to make it like new. Check the lodgemfg site for detailed instructions online or for contact numbers to call for instructions.

My husband and I like corn bread with soup. When we made it in a square plan, the middle pieces were crumbly. We like these corn sticks because they're a little crispy and don't take as long to bake. I use a little gravy ladle to fill each slot. I pre-season with a vegetable spray and they fall right out.

While she makes homemade cornbread, I use Jiffy corn muffin mix for the convenience plus my husband likes the taste. Using the Jiffy mix I have quite a bit of batter left over. The description listed the dimensions but I didn't do the math. I just went back to using muffin tins or small square cast iron skillet.

Quality wise it is good sturdy cast iron. It has been pre seasoned but it needs more seasoning as I find most new cast iron does.

Would buy Lodge again but not this particular size.

The cornstick pans are perfect, a cooking classic. The pans are heavy - cast iron, and small. The larger pan plus the smaller one both fit in my DeLongi toaster oven -- just what I wanted. MADE IN USA!

I am pleased with my pans. They are great quality like all of my Lodge pans. I was a bit shocked when I opened the box, I expected them to be a bit larger for the price.
