There are lots of fancy cookware materials out there but cast iron still trumps them all with its even heating, heat retention, price, and duration. The caveat is being able to lift cast iron cookware and, at 7 pounds, this deep fry pan will give most chefs a workout. The kit comes with a 2-1/2-quart skillet with 4-inch-deep sides for frying a batch of shrimp, vegetables, or hush puppies. Also included with the kit is a stainless-steel wire frying basket and a thermometer to monitor the temperature of your oil.

While it usually takes years of cooking to burn on the prized finish that makes cast-iron cookware smooth and stick-free, the Logic line of cookware comes pre-seasoned to save you some work. Cast iron pans in this line are coated in a vegetable oil, which is then baked on in a hot industrial oven to obtain that blackened patina and silky surface. I ordered this because I have a small kitchen and not much storage space. Its just the two of us so this size is perfect. Its a very nice fry kit. I have used several times already and I am very pleased. If you are looking for something that will fry large batches of something or for a large family you probably want something bigger. The measurments on this item are clearly stated so I am not sure why anyone would be surprised it didn't do large batches. This did not come with a lid which I would have liked. However I have an 8" Lodge fry pan and lid and it fits perfectly so get an 8" lid if you also want a lid to go with this.

This deep fryer kit is great for many reasons:

Even heating

Durable cast iron (forever)

Oil Tempature doesn't drop as you add food unlike other cheap deep fryers

MADE IN USA!!!

Unfortunately the basket and thermometer are made in china

Nice pre-seasoned finish, its nice not having to season cast iron

Its a nice full kit in a box

For those who complained about the size.. Thats why they are called product descriptions, it describes the dimensions and capacity of the deep fryer. Its perfect for everyone from the single person to the full size family! Drop in a small amount of finger food or fry all day long for a family.

We have used this item daily for a few months now. We like it so much we bought two! Perfect size for one to two people. Its great for fries, perigees, or (a few) chicken wings. Be sure to use the basket that comes with it for frying, because it splatters without it! We even use the pot to boil noodles. Great all around product! This item can sometimes be difficult to find.
