Lodge was no Patriot,
By Walter S. Mcintosh "walter james (mac)mcintosh" (Invercargill, New Zealand) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Lodge in Vietnam: A Patriot Abroad (Hardcover)
This book came out in 1995 . I am quite late reading it . It offered promise as the author correctly depicts Lodge as a lazy,, vain, and nasty individual . But just what prompted the author to ascribe patriotism as a motivation is just hard to accept and further the author offers no evidence to back up this odd statement . Further, although the author evidently had access to near conclusive evidence of Lodge's direct complicity in the murder of Ngo Dinh Diem and his brother , the author ignores that evidence .
After briefing Lodge on some technical matters Ambassador Lodge responded by saying to me " It is just too bad that we have people like you in this world, but as I guess we do , I am glad you are on our side. - Merry Christmas" . |
