I figured cheap brushes would be less accurate, or be made from lower quality materials. I didn't think the bristles would be falling out with every brush stroke and getting stuck in the paint. These are basically worthless because you have to pick out the bristles with each coat. Lesson learned.

Bought these to use on canvas but soon found out that they do not detail well and often drag spaces through the lines of paint and make the paintings look scratchy because of the toughness of the brushes. The sponges in the bag work well for canvas priming and glue spreading. I recommend these brushes for smaller projects instead of serious canvas paintings.

I bought these to touch up some outdoor figurines, and didn't want to spend a lot of money. SOOOO I got what I paid for. I'd recommend bumping it up a bit and paying a little more to get better quality.

My grandson loves to paint, but I do not like having him use my good brushes. If you have a similar situation or if you are looking for brushes for infrequent use, the "Loew-Cornell Brush Set, Value Pack" may be just what you want. While the brushes are not of professional artist quality, they are Loew-Cornell and are a good choice for children's projects or for infrequent use. With proper care, I have found these packaged brushes, branded as Loew-Cornell, always last long enough to make them a good value.

An assortment of 25 brushes, this set will meet almost any painting need. This package includes:
White Nylon Shaders 4, 6; Liner 0; Round 3; and Angular shader 3/8"
Golden Nylon Wash ¾", 1";Shader 2, 10; Round 0, 3
Sable Round 5/0, 6
Bristle Flat 2, 4, 6; Round 3
Camel Round 2, 4, 8; Wash 1/8", ½"
Chip Brush 1"
Foam Brushes(2) 1"

I checked at the two big craft stores and neither had a set that was comparable to the "Loew-Cornell Brush Set, Value Pack" in price or in the quantity of brushes. For my grandson's use, I like both the variety and the value of this product.

I needed one more thing on my order to get the add-on I wanted at the price I wanted to pay. I've been adding food color to milk and having my grandkid's "paint their bread before we toast it in the morning and I needed some clean paint brushes that were inexpensive for them to use. These worked out great. If I can figure out how, I'll post a picture.

I like to paint. It is a thing I do not have enough time to do but when I have a moment, my paints and canvases are all out.

When I stated I wanted a brush set what a large variety so I can experiment. This set was not all that bad. It really comes with many brushes of all shapes and sizes. I can do my fine point work to applying a whole background.

Bristles overall are not that bad. They come in a wide variety of thicknesses to give me what I need. They are not to soft or to hard. Like with any brush when you get used to it, you are ready to go.

I have a slight issue is that on some occasions, a bristle would fall off. Not so bad but you have to watch for them.

Overall this set is great for the beginner or hobbits. If you are a professional, maybe not this set. it has worked for me and if I need lots of brushes at a good price, this set is so worth it.

I was happy with these brushes. I spent WAY too much time reading reviews before ordering these brushes, and I thought these sounded like the best for my price and my expected uses. I was right. Lots of sizes to choose from depending upon your project. After painting several small projects (garden rocks and small wooden benches, etc.) a few of the brushes started losing their 'hair' and I had to throw them out, but overall, after 2-3 months of small weekend craft projects I still have 80% of these brushes. I am truly an "I just want to paint something for fun' hobbyist, so these brushes were a good buy for me.

The Value Brush Pack contains 25 brushes for various purposes including foam, bristle, watercolor and acrylic. For about five dollars, I can't give an account for the bristle brushes, but I can vouch for the watercolor brushes being surprisingly springy and sturdy. I have purchased several packages for my beginners' watercolor class as I have used these in a pinch and found them to be up to the task. These brushes are made by Loew Cornell, although some are marked "Simply Brushes," or "Contemporary Crafts," they are made by the same company.
