This made a great gift for a teen who alread had experience with the different media in the set. She was very happy and will make good use of all the items, watercolors are not at an artist level but you can supplement that. Not a good gift for a young child, without knowing a pastel from a piece of chalk but excellent overall, with a couple drawing pads, price is very good.

Don't buy this art kit!! It is full of LOTS of items: markers, brushes, oils, colored pencils, etc. However, they are CHEAP!!!! The price you pay for this kit is not worth the quality of the art supplies in the kit. The paints are the "dry/chalky" type that won't actually paint. The markers dry out quickly and the oils are all dried out. When a child opens this kit they will be excited to see how much there is and be quickly disappointed when they actually begin to put it all to use. To top it off, it arrived in a box three times it size and the kit was damaged beyond repair. I was extremely disappointed with the actual kit and the packaging.

Great art kit. Everything the budding artist might want. I ordered it for my granddaughter and she loves it!!

I ordered two of these art sets for my kids, ages 7 & 8. They enjoy arts and crafts and I thought this set would make a great gift for them for Christmas. If I would have realized exactly how large the set was and how many art tools are included, I would have only purchased one for them to share.

I'll start out by saying that the sets are nearly 2' wide by 2' tall and about 2" thick. The packaging seems to be a little flimsy and I anticipate having to get a couple of storage containers once the kit packages fail, but they'll work fine for the time being.

The kit contains a whole assortment of tools, which was the main reason I chose this one. There are a whole bunch of markers in the package - thin tip and thick - which I don't mind. There are also two sets of colored pencils (one set the body of the pencil is colored and the other set is wood color with the ends capped with the color of the pencil) and I don't know what the difference is. There is a large set of watercolor paints and I'm guessing 10-12 small paintbrushes included. I'm very excited to see how the kids use the oil pastels, even though they haven't ever tried them before (they were one of my favorite art tools when I was in high school). The chalk will also be fun. There are also several erasers (maybe 5) and I think 3 small pencil sharpeners.

Overall, I'm pleased with the set. Some reviewers said they weren't happy with the quality of the materials, but for my kids I think having the range of tools and opportunities to try out different kinds of artistic media as beginners is well worth the $30. If I was to go out and purchase all of these items individually, even mediocre quality products, I would be spending well over the price of this kit.

This was a gift for niece - 12 years old. It came as pictured - lots of product for a good price. She has spent hours using the items and is enjoying using her artistic talent. Haven't heard anything negative from parents - so guessing a good choice. Would recommend for child of age range 6 and up.

Bought for my daughter and she was very impressed. Had even more than she planned on. Was worried it may have been damaged as box shipped in was all crushed on one side; but was in perfect condition.

My kids love arts and crafts, so this art set was perfect for our kind of play. Lots of goodies to keep the kids entertained. We made rainbows using each type of instrument and decided which was our favorite to use. We have played every day since its arrival, which by the way was a day filled with ooos and ahhhs when the kids saw the enormity of this case! One word of advice, if you live in a hot climate as I, keep a good watch out for arrival for the oil pastels and crayons became very soft (almost melted) as the box sat in the sun. We saved it though! : ) Have fun!

Each crayon and pencil is counted as the total 315 pc. However, my children love art and so the variety of media available for art is great. I'm sure it will provide many hours of enjoyment...it already has been a hit.

Got this for my 10 year old daughter who loves to draw and color. She's had it nearly a month now and still pulls it out to use something from the kit nearly every day. The variety of drawing/coloring mediums is fantastic. So far nothing has broken, dried out or stopped working so well worth the money and we love to see our daughter continue to extend her creativity and artistic talents.

I bought this and was surprised on the size of the kit. My daughter loved it and had made use of it since day one. Thanks for post it.
