1.0 out of 5 stars No value for log home builders, December 31, 2010

This review is from: Log Home Project Planner: Your Complete Workbook for Managing a Log Home Construction Project (Paperback)
This book is just a rehash of other home building project management books on the market. I was disappointed in the lack of detail devoted to log home building vs. frame construction. The book also assumes that all log home builders use premanufactured kits rater than a person who harvested their logs. I returned the book to Amazon.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good overview of construction process for a log home, December 26, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Log Home Project Planner: Your Complete Workbook for Managing a Log Home Construction Project (Paperback)
This was a good book to read prior to constructing a log home. Certainly I would recommend this to someone planning to build a new home as a guide to things to consider when doing their due diligence. It provided good guidelines on things to consider, to ask the contractors and log home manufacturer, mortgage company, etc. However, it wasn't very helpful when things went wrong (or not as planned). For that, you need someone familiar with construction practices in your area, even if on a retainer or as-needed basis.
