I watched this show back in high school and haven't seen it since then, so I decided to try out the Amazon Unbox download of the pilot episode. It is about an hour and 15 minutes long, so the pilot must have been a TV movie back in the day. I enjoyed my nostalgic trip enough to go back and buy the whole season, so now I'm working my way through the other episodes. The show was cheesy at times, but it's fun to remember what sci-fi television was like back in the day. Enjoy the 1980s hairstyles in the post-apocalyptic world of the future!

The picture quality seemed fine to me on my small standard-definition TV -- of course don't expect much if you're watching it on a big-screen HDTV or something like that.

as a child like the show and as a man still like it had a disent plot brings back the good old days and ok effects but would like to see the dvd or at least let buyer chouse format so thay may watch it on dvd players and portible dvices so may enjoy it over and over and would start a 70s tv collection then show it to my family and shere storys of the days that the show aired

I watched this show as a kid. I figured I'd buy an episode or two and enjoy a classic, cheesy, campy, 1970's show. But it was surprisingly good so I bought the entire season. Yes, the effects are awful and the show is obviously low budget, but the script is pretty good. The show avoids the usual sci-fi cliches, there are no glaring loopholes in the plot, and they present fresh new ideas. In "man out of time" the characters struggle with an interesting moral dilemma in a thoughtful way and there's an unusual twist at the end. I love the robot REM (excuse me...android) - he has attitude and wit (by comparison Data from Star Trek is bland as tract housing). Another refreshing thing you rarely see is the bad guys aren't always bad and often show honorable traits. A great show, just ignore the special effects and sets. I downloaded this to TIVO which was very easy. I do wish they had it on DVD.
