5.0 out of 5 stars logg, March 23, 2000

This review is from: Logg (Audio CD)
This album on the legendary New York disco label Salsoul Records is a must own for anyone who enjoys the disco/funk grooves and musical sounds of D-Train, Change, various Patrick Adams prod., Aurra, or anything that came out on the Prelude or Westend labels between the years of 1978 and 1983.This particular album was really basically a solo album written, performed, and produced by Leroy Burgess(formally of the soul group Black Ivory);with the help of some of his long time musical associates such as Stan Lucas,Greg Carmichael,Sonny Davenport, and James Calloway. The music on this album is disco but with a heavy lean toward the new dancefloor snyth-funk that was emerging from the streets and clubs in New York at the time,i.e. Prelude`s D-Train. All 6 cut`s are fantastic, funky yet beautiful and mellodic at the same time all the while still having your head continously bob to the 4/4 beats provided throughout the album. It also has all the classic Leroy Burgess keyboard riffs and killer groove arrangements he was known for during this glorious period of black disco/funk. This album was recorded in 1981 and originally released that same year on Salsoul Records. It is definitely an underground classic and it`s great to see it now availible on c.d. format. It`s one those albums that when c.d.`s first hit the market you told yourself;hey they`ll never release this album but, guess what; they did! Good goin` Charly Records! All groove, funk and disco heads pick this up now, the 2nd time around or for the 1st time around, before they mess around and let it go out of print forever! It`s worth the money to add to your collection(especially at this low,low price)! peace&funk forever. -funkmosphere(L.A.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Cult disco, April 30, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Logg (Audio CD)
Logg was a studio group created by legendary producer Greg Carmichael. He was a rather prolific producer, who formed the Universal Robot Band, perhaps his most famous project.

Logg was never well associated with his name, but this studio group signed to Salsoul put out some of the finest club disco ever released. I was surprised to find a CD re-issue as this was never a group which had much following.

Enough history- let's discuss the music on this album. It's typical of the Salsoul label- a very american disco sound. The star tracks on this album are "You've Got That Something", "I Know You Will", and "Something Else". It's an absolutely excellent american disco album, and a must buy for Patrick Adams and Greg Carmichael collectors. If you're a casual disco listener, I would suggest you pass on this album- this is for hardcore collectors only.
