Product Description

Fig Panforte from Le Logge, dense Italian fruitcake filled with hazelnuts. Perfect with any cheese platter or fresh fruit. This fruit cake is made in historic Massa Marittima, in the heart of Tuscany. Panforte is a traditional Tuscan cake, with a history dating back centuries, to approximately the year 1000. Le Logge uses rare spices and wood fired ovens. The aromas eminating from the bakery harbor memories of long forgotten traditions and methods. Today it is served throughout the holidays as a dessert, or paired with cheese and fresh fruits. Pairs wonderfully with an Italian Vinsanto.

It's too bad this stuff is unavailable online at the moment, but when the opportunity arises, try this not too sweet dessert with brie and apple wedges. YUM!

It is great! Not too sweet , not too hard. The right amount of spices, so they not overpower the delicate fig taste.The nuts add right amount of crunch to the dessert! Great to send as a yummy gift to a friend or relative.

Reminded me of my childhood, tasted very similar to the Pan Forte from long ago. A little more spices and it would be perfect.
