The open version of this product is nowhere near as good as the closed version. Perhaps the 8" is just too small. The jaws are not very wide and clamping it onto a bolt or nut takes a lot of finesse.

This is a great idea but because of it's head size it's limited in it's applications. I love it for my wife because she can use to take the wheels off the kids bikes if she need to transport them. It defintiely does what it's supposed to, the nut or bolt just needs to be very exposed.

THIS IS A LIFE SAVER SINCE MY GRIP IS VERY WEAK. I AM ABLE TO LOOSEN VERY TOUGH LIDS. I DO WISH THAT I HAD BOUGHT THE LARGER VERSION OF THIS PRODUCT SINCE SOME OF MY ITEMS HAVE A BIGGER DIAMETER.
