Logging Railroads of S.C. - The Unknown Dynasty,
By M. Alderman (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Logging Railroads of South Carolina (Hardcover)
I purchased this book because my family history involves logging in South Carolina. I quickly gained an appreciation for the volume of data that had to be compiled for this publication, as well as the hard and dangerous work carried out by the loggers and railroad men in South Carolina. Tom Fetters givs a complete history of the logging mills and railroads in South Carolina and the book contains many interesting photographs of logging mills, locomotives and rolling stock. Those who have an interest in reading about "lost" segments of american history, as well as railroad buffs, will enjoy this book. I would also recommend this book for those who are looking for "undiscovered" topics and want to read about something "new".
