Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

Application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) are at the leading edge of the engineering design spectrum, yet less than 10,000 engineers are trained to perform effective logic design procedures using these devices. As the need for ASIC designers continues to increase, the number of designs per year that each designer must complete is also increasing.
Whether the logic or gate array is semi-custom (tailored to the application via macro selection and interconnect) or full-custom (where even the base water is specified by the designer), first time prototype success is essential to the design process.
This book will show you how to approach the design covering everything from the circuit specification to the final design acceptance, including what support you can expect, sizing, timing analysis, power and packaging, various simulations, design verification, and design submission.

More About the Author

Donnamaie White (a.k.a. d. e. white; a.k.a. Caliente Morgan, a.k.a. Lady Jane) has spent over 30 years in high-tech training and documentation for companies such as: AMD, AMCC, and Synopsys. During that time she published over 40 technical papers, created dozens of seminars, wrote over 5,000 essays and stories for the web, and published three technical textbooks: Logic Design for Array-Based Circuits, Bit-Slice Design: Controllers and ALUs, and Advanced Logic Circuit Design Techniques, the latter co-authored with Professor Emeritus Antonin Svoboda, her PhD thesis advisor.
Her secret life for all these years has been as a fiction author, and Jettison (science fiction) was self-published in 2000.
She has now formed a company, WhitePubs Enterprises, Inc. and is currently working on a number of fiction projects about as far from ASICs, Chips, and Design Methodology as a vampire, a cop, or a star-ship captain can get.
WhitePubs will publish eBooks, with some limited POD, featuring high-tech books, K-12 text books, and, of course, fiction, humor, and whatever else comes along.
