5.0 out of 5 stars Most beautiful dreamy, chillout, trance album - EVER!
Despite the fact that Logic Trance 2 is indeed a trance album with dance rhythms and a general techno feel it is really more for the mind than the dance floor. All of the aritist on this 23-track, double cd are either German or English (except for Laurnet Garnier whom is French). European trance/techno/ambient like this album is rather different and much more creative...

2.0 out of 5 stars Sleepy time....
I am a fan of energetic, progressive trance you can dance to (ala the Zenith room at Pacha in Ibiza). I was not into this very relaxing, floating techno trance. But if that's what you're looking for, you'd probably like it.

Despite the fact that Logic Trance 2 is indeed a trance album with dance rhythms and a general techno feel it is really more for the mind than the dance floor. All of the aritist on this 23-track, double cd are either German or English (except for Laurnet Garnier whom is French). European trance/techno/ambient like this album is rather different and much more creative than the American music of this genre, probably because the original pioneers of this kind of music seem ot be mostley German or British. The songs on this cd are breathtaking! Classics include The Orb's "Little Fluffy Clouds", FSOL "Papua New Guinea", Oribtal "Lush 3.1", Jam & Spoon "Stella", Dance 2 Trance "Trance-0-phobia" and Underworld "Rez". However, the best songs on here seem to be the ones that come from the most obscure artist - Mindbender's "Should I try" has got to be one of most errotic and chilling trance tunes of all time - the sci-fi atmosphere and obsesive tone of the women's voice blend perfectly. And Electrotete's (side project by Juno Reactor) "I love you" is a sensual and very synthetic (romantic?) trance piece with the etherial voice repeating the words "I love you" - it's so haunting! And of course their is the purely ambient and heavenly track "Paradiese II" from Atlantis (get Logic Trance 1 for "Paradiese I! ) as well as Emojonal's "Silence of the Water", both very errotic yet relaxing tunes with spoken female voices.

I most highley reccomend this album to any ambient/trance fan. This will surely be right up your alley. Take it from a very picky die hard fan if this sort of music. If I could give it 5+++ stars I would! A definate *must have* you one can't be without.

This is the first electronica album anyone interested in the genre should buy. So many of the classics are on this compilation. The Orb's "Little Fluffy Clouds", Future Sound of London's "Papua New Guinea", Energy 52's "Cafe del Mar", and Orbital's "Lush 3.1" are probably the best representations of each artist possible, and each song is a classic of the genre. There are a number of other underrated songs on this collection as well, including The BLYZ's "What Is Sound?" and Electrotete's "I Love You". This album showcases the beginnings of the trance genre, but has a definate ambient tinge to it. In any case, this is an absolutely essential album that I would recommend to anyone. If the filler had been taken out and it had been packed into one disc, it would be one of the best albums of all time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classics and hard to finds, July 24, 2001

"logic trance" was really just a failed attempt to coin a special term for experamental trance.. or progressive trance. Most of these tract hardly fit the current definition of "trance",but thats a good thing. Unlike most trance you hear today none of these songs have fallin into the "must have house beat for clubs" rule. Some of these are truely breathtaking songs from early on in certain carrers. The orb Little fluffy clouds is already a classic in every way, and you would do your self a favor to pic up a few orb cd's as well... and as you move on down the list you find some other greats such as hard to find laurient garnier, and somewhat rare Underworld. other classic such as orbitals lush 3.1 and future sound of londons classic papa new guina make this a perfect set for the new elecronica fan. All the other song feature on this album are pretty rare. Some of these groups just didn't get the support to make an album. While all the songs are wonderful. This is a decent album for just about anybdoy interested in electronic music. Old and new.

If you do, this double album might be for you. It goes down smooth and keeps the vibe mellow. A welcome addition to my collection of chill out CDs.

Many elaborate reviews so I won't go much into detail. I just want to say that I own an extensive music collection that includes hundreds of electronica / trance CDs but this is definitely one of my favorite (in fact, probably my top favorite) collection CDs. Contains many rare tracks from the golden age of Trance (the mid 90s). My favorite track is the Space Track by Cosmic Baby.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Eletronic Compilation CD...EVER!!!, January 27, 2004

This is without question the best compilation CD ever created. Classic tracks that still hold true even after nearly 10 years. I originally bought this CD in England when it first came out and I was suprised as to how many songs on this CD stand out.

Some of my favs: Energy 52's Cafe' Del Mar as well as Microbot's Logic Trance on the 1st CD. Marmion's Schoneberg, LSG's Fragile, Laurent Garnier's Wake Up, and finally Fires of Ork's Fires of Ork II. If you listen to this track carefully with your eyes closed you will experience what Trance music is really all about.

No CD ever released after this has ever duplicated the quality of songs. Urbal Beats and MTV's Amp series comes close, but Logic Trance 2 is the reigning king after nearly 10 years.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fine selection of trance tracks from the mid-nineties, January 6, 1999
This review is from: Logic Trance 2 (Audio CD)
This is the only U.S. release among the four volumes of the "Logic Trance" compilation series. It's now a bit old (it came out in early 1995), but the selelction of tracks was excellent, so the music still sounds fresh and beautiful. For those who are curious about melodic trance and yet have had little exposure to this wonderful genre, this reasonably priced cd set would serve as an excellent introduction. With tracks by such "stars" as L.S.G. (Oliver Lieb), Orbital, Underworld, Visions of Shiva, Cosmic Baby, Jam & Spoon, and Humate, this is indeed a "best of trance," at least for releases from the earlier part of the decade. Some American listeners may even recognize a track by the Orb that has recently been used to help sell the new VW Beetle automobile.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Logic Trance 2 (Audio CD)
I had this cd set back in the 90's and paid quite a bit for it. I felt nostalgic and wanted to order it off of itunes and it was not there. So I went to order it new from a record store and it was $120.(too much) This was my first amazon purchase and the case may have been a bit scuffed, but the cds were mint and the whole thing was under $15 bucks, including shipping.
