5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value!
Everything you need to go on the road with your iPod. Car Charger, headphone splitter, cassette adaptor (I'm not convinced that the FM Transmitters are very good yet), extra ear buds, USB & firewire Cables. All in a sleek- not cheezy carry pack. At least an $80 value for less than $55. You can't go wrong.

If you travel at all and would like to use your...

3.0 out of 5 stars Unacceptable gear noise easily fixed
This kit comes in a pretty slick case that holds everything and your iPod in relative convenience. The USB adapter, ear buds, splitter, and car power/Firewire adapters all perform reasonably well (though the ear buds are no better than the stock Apple buds).

The tape adapter, though, had completely unacceptable gear noise when I put it in my car. The...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great All-in-One, May 20, 2006
This review is from: Logic3 Travel Kit for iPods (Electronics)
I've tried a variety of FM transmitters and am dissapointed in the variable sound quality--lots of static, fluctuating volume, and interrupted signal. The Logic3 Travel Kit is a great all-in-one solution. The sound quality is first rate. The charger integrates nicely with the cassette player and eliminates the quandry of calculating whether or not to "waste" battery power on one's commute versus saving it for a long wait at the doctor's office, courthouse, or DMV. The retractible cords work wonders for eliminating visual chaos near the instrument panel and potential tangle with all of one's briefs, totes, bags, two and four legged passengers etc. The splitter is a nice addition and also works well. For the price this product it is quite a bargin.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Product from Crutchfield, July 20, 2006

I have been using this product for about a month now, and it works great. I have not experienced any intermittant volume decrease as I have heard from users of other similar products. The sound is great and the kit contains everything that you need to listen and charge you Ipod in your auto. The support and instructions for installing and using the product were excellent, almost too much info there. I have already recommended this item to a friend as a great value.

This is a great way to keep accessories together and at hand. Compact and easy to store in the car or in a travel bag.

The purpose of the gears is to fool your tape player into thinking that it is actually pulling and winding tape. Unfortunately the mesh, alignment, and sheer quantity of gears (six in all) created a clicking and grumbling noise audible even over engine and road noise. Furthermore, the tape deck would eject the tape on occasion after a few seconds of playing.

Fortunately, I had Plan B - take out all the gears and fool the tape deck on my own. Step 1 was easy - take out six tiny screws, dump out all the gears, and put it back together again. Step 2 was easy, too, on my 2003 PT Cruiser. Put in the tape, immediately reverse it, and then reverse it again to the proper play direction. I couldn't tell you why this works - it just does.

Once I had that worked out, the tape adapter was whisper silent (no moving parts). The audio noise was lower than previous tape adapters that I've used, and the gain was strong and consistent.

Overall, I'd rate this a good kit for tinkerers who own 2003 PT Cruisers (possibly other Mopar cars and years - but don't take my word for it).

4.0 out of 5 stars Good enough but you could get a better transmitter, May 3, 2007

This review is from: Logic3 Travel Kit for iPods (Electronics)
I bough this product for several reasons since it has several parts. I needed a case and this one is excellent. I need it a headphone splitter and this one is excellent as well. I was not looking for headphones but these in particular has an excellent sound that I did not expect. I had a car charger but I can use an extra one and this one seems ok. I wanted to try the tape to play my ipod music in the car and I did not find it that good in the beginning. It sounds like being inside a tin can, but it could be just my car stereo, I do not know. Eventually I was forced to come back and edit my review, because as I kept using the tape the sound got better each time, at least it does not have the interference from radio stations all the time, specially around cities like the other transmitters which are horrible. I still need to find a better transmitter but so far with what I have tried this is the best. Most parts and excellent, the tape is above average but not excellent, still I highly recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars works well, easy to use, July 20, 2006
This review is from: Logic3 Travel Kit for iPods (Electronics)
I purchased this for my teenager to use with her IPod Nano. I shopped around for a while before I finally decided on this one because it came with losts of accesories and she uses it everyday all the time and says it works perfectly. I've only had it for a month but it's holding up in the hands to a teen and no complaints so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple ipod car solution., March 10, 2007

This review is from: Logic3 Travel Kit for iPods (Electronics)
If you're looking for something to use your iPod in your car and don't want to deal with the issues of transmitters, this makes for a great choice. Simple, the wires have range, and the sound quality is better than a transmitter for less than half the price.

The only downsides I can think of is there's nothing to hold your iPod, so unless you've got a convenient cubby close to a power source and your cassette deck, it could require some finesse to set up, and more things come with the kit than you really need to set it up in your car. Not that I'm complaining...

5.0 out of 5 stars Nifty, June 14, 2007
This review is from: Logic3 Travel Kit for iPods (Electronics)
Although some of the items in the kit (headphones, auxilary headphone jack mainly) I doubt I will use the car charger and cassette adapter were the best. There's no static or anything from using the adapter either. I hear the FM tuner adapters give off a lot of static so I would prefer to use the cassette and put up with the cord instead of putting up with static any time. It's great for cars with no CD player or auxiliary cable!
