Good Things Come in Small Packages! :),

This review is from: VX Nano Notebook Mouse (Personal Computers)
Or at least in this case they do. :) Overall I think that it's a wonderful product with one of the best (and coolest) features that I've ever seen for a notebook computer...a NANO receiver!!!! Now in this day in age where we throw around all kinds of 'cool' names to make up suckers, I mean consumers, purchase things that we probably don't need, THIS IS AWESOME! Why? I can now place this TINY wireless receiver in the back of my laptop and literally forget about it. I'm able to (almost) throw my laptop in my Swiss Gear backpack and not worry about such things as "Did I remove the receiver?" and others to ensure that you don't snap it off of your laptop. Still worried about loosing the receiver or in some other way damage it? When you're finished on your notebook (or computer) you can actually store the receiver IN the mouse!
As far as the actual mouse, it is a little smaller than I'd prefer, but I'm not using it to game with. It does (as Logitech usually does) include a lot of options to configure the mouse with software wise and features all of the standard mouse options like tilt-wheel and others. The "find" button to me is rather useless so I changed it to act like the middle mouse button (this you can do in the software) BUT if you'd prefer it will perform searches on selected text on your favorite search engine or some other random tasks. Battery life has been great so far, easy on and off functions, I don't have to worry about it turning on in my backpack. Another nice feature is that it also comes with an actually higher quality case to carry it. This mouse is also VERY smooth. For some reason, the way that they designed the bottom enables it to glide along almost any surface much better than any other mouse that I've tried. Overall, I think it's a wonderful product that is built exceptionally well as well as great styling thrown in the mix. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants an attractive, smooth mouse that will be PERFECT for traveling! - Jason

Fantastic Wireless Mouse! Highly Recommended!,

The "Logitech VX Nano" mouse is simply a fantastic mouse! I was given this mouse as a gift by a friend, which is good because it is unlikely that I would have spent this much on mouse for myself (at least before using this one). I am shocked at how good this mouse is and how well it works!
The very first thing you will notice is how small the USB receiver really is. We are talking tiny! This is great because you can insert it into the USB port and forget about it. This is important to me because we had bought my kids wireless mice (Microsoft) last year for my kid's laptops and the USB receivers were the size of USB memory sticks. These have both been physically broken because they stick out so far and now they are useless. This will not be a problem with the VX Nano since it has such a low profile. The mouse itself feels very good in my large hands (contrary to some other reviewer's experiences) and the buttons all seem to be intuitively placed. I really like the Scroll Wheel, which works much better than the one on my less expensive mouse. The included carry case is much better quality than I would have expected. This is a well made and sturdy case with plenty of room for the mouse and extra AAA batteries. The USB receiver can be stored inside the mouse when transporting it between laptops (I use two, a work and a personal). This is a very nice feature and "shuts off" the mouse when it is stowed. This mouse is simply great! Highly recommended!

Mighty Mouse,

This is a really good mouse. Installation and set-up is easy. I did it plus downloaded the software update) without reading the instructions. Although you are given the option of installing the software, I highly recommend it because it will tell how many days of battery power remains. It uses (2) AAA batteries. The bluetooth dongle is extremely small. All 5-buttons can be re-assigned using the software. It is a very comfortable mouse that I would recommend to anyone that needs a replacement.

Totally reliable-better then so called "better" models,

I got this mouse in 2008, and I have never had a problem with it. Recently I gave it to my mom for her laptop and got myself a supposed "better model". The "better model" died after 2 weeks of use-and this one-still going strong! Just bought another one of these. Who cares if it's considered a bit "old"-if it works-use it!

The Scoop - a review of Logitech's VX Nano Mouse for Mac and Windows,
GENERAL INFO:
The Nano Mouse is a cousin to Logitech's regular sized VX model. In size it's about ½ inch smaller than the VX, and a bit thinner. It fit my mom-sized hand nicely, and my husband hasn't complained, but I rather imagine that it could be too small for someone with really large hands. The other shape-and-size element I noticed is that the mouse is symmetrical which means theoretically that it has no inherent lefties or righties bias. The theory falls apart somewhat as there are two programmable buttons on the far left side of the mouse: Logitech calls these Thumb Back and Thumb Forward buttons. I found them difficult enough to use as a rightie, I can only imagine it would be more difficult for a leftie. The package includes a carrying case, batteries (the ones in the box were dead) and Windows-ONLY software. I tested the mouse on my MacBook and an ACER laptop. The mouse did work right out of the box on the Mac (once fresh batteries were inserted), but without the 'special features'. To get those to work you need to go to the Logitech site. The file you need is icc222.dmg - a quick download. The key element is the minuscule RF dongle that goes in a USB port. [Bluetooth afficiandos are just going to have to wait.] It's so small that you hardly need to remove it, unless you use a very small tote. If you do want to remove it, there is a convenient storage area inside the mouse. REGULAR FEATURES: Left and Right Buttons: can be set for 1, 2, and 3 clicks as well as click-lock and right click only. The Scroll Wheel lets you adjust increment and acceleration. Typically a small movement is one line, a big one 5 or more lines (varies, of course, with what Application you are using). There is also an extension 'thingie' for those looking to use it with a big box machine. COOL FEATURES: The Scroll wheel lets you go left and right. That's right you can now nudge the pointer over. How cool is that. One-Touch search: Behind the scroll wheel there is a button with a magnifying glass on it. You can program that button to load up a search function such as Yahoo, Google, Finder, Sherlock, or even a custom URL. The Thumb Forward/Back buttons can be programmed to do various tasks. There are more options available on the Windows menu as compared to the bare listing for Apple machines. PROBLEMS: --The BIGGEST problem is that the dang mouse software locked up my MacBook. It is really difficult to do on a Mac so I can only conclude that Logitech thought of Apple as an afterthought. Boo-hiss. --The above opinion is supported by the second annoyance which is that they didn't include the Apple software on the disk. --The 'nudge' feature does not work in Open Office (on the Mac) - sigh - although it does work in Adobe. [Note: this feature worked with everything I tried on my Acer.] --They also could have, for symmetries sake, included another set of programmable buttons on the right hand side of the mouse for lefties. WINDOWS/INTEL RATING: Four Stars [B+]. This is a nice sized mouse with some cool features. The software is a little slow installing but partially that was because the installer found an upgrade to download. I would definitely consider buying this mouse for my Acer laptop. The Zoom programmability and other programmable features work in Open Office, MSWord and Adobe and would make my life easier. MAC RATING: Two Stars. [D+] The Nano is a nice mouse but it wasn't designed with an Apple user in mind. The software had to be downloaded from the Logitech site and even then the presentation was inferior to that offered for Windows. Some features like Zoom are not available to us -period. So, although the Nano has some cool, advanced 'programmable' features, I can't say that I'd recommend it to Mac users. That is, unless you are one of those vigilant sorts that can manage to remember not to let your computer go to sleep without turning off the mouse. Otherwise, it is going to trash your kernel. And I can't begin to tell you how annoying that was.

I am a computer addict and I have a collection of machines, peripherals and I must surely have a 15 mouses around here.
IMHO, this one is the very best. It works virtually anywhere (not on glass), has incredible battery life, incredible range, fantastic options, nice feel, nice weight, handiest weighted free spinning scroll wheel, great travel pouch, tiny easy to store receiver, and a partridge in a pear tree, lol. Dozens of my friends and family have one these VX Nano mouses and they all agree, it is the best. Once you own one of these, it is difficult to ever use an ordinary mouse again.

Great mouse, but not worth $115.99,
This review is from: VX Nano Notebook Mouse (Personal Computers)
I bought this mouse for around 50 or 60 USD, and I think it's worth it. The mouse wheel can be a wee bit finicky, but other than that no complaints. I noticed someone selling this for $115.99 and I just had to say don't buy it for that price, it's not worth it! You can get a gaming mouse for $115.99, and this is not good enough to use for gaming. I actually came across this searching for a gaming mouse to replace this very mouse that I own. I'll probably bring this one into work, it will be perfect for that.

Yes, I think this is the product of the last decade because;
- It works all the time. It does what is required. - The range is great. You can use mouse anywhere in the house/office where you can see the monitor. 2.4Ghz. - I have been using this item for 10 months without any problems. Battery life is great too. - The receiver is so small that you don't need to worry about it when you move your laptop. You can't accidentally break it. I wish that LOGITECH produces a similar NANO receiver KEYBOARD, too.

I didn't have much problems with this mouse, other than the laser motion detecter was on the left side rather than the right side, so for a righty it would not respond if you tilted it outwards. Other than that I have no complaints.
