No complaints here. It's exactly what you would expect - light, durable, comfortable, works well. I have three of these. One of them gets dropped or has it's cord yanked several times a day. Another has been in heavy use for about 18 months. They are all working fine without even showing much wear.

Mouse balls are always getting dirty and start working poorly. An optical mouse eliminates that problem.

If you need special features, like extra buttons, cordless, etc., this won't do. If you need a functional, simple, reliable mouse, This is as close to perfect as you'll find.

When my previous ball mouse kept fetching up and made it close to impossible to drag my pointer around easily, I went out and bought the Logitech Optical mouse. I figured since I was having problems with the ball mouse, then optical was the way to go. I was right. I picked this particular one because it was cheaper than all the other optical mouse products. Turnes out you don't need the most expensive to get the best quality. This little mouse works wonderfully. It is extremely smooth scrolling, and it never stutters. When you slide the mouse around the pointer goes with it without stopping even once. And the middle button/scroll wheel makes this the perfect mouse. Plus one of the best parts is that there is no installation required. Plug it into the mouse port, then turn on the computer and that is it. It will work automatically. There are no compatibility problems with Windows XP. So go ahead and buy this little guy.

i purchased for office use. everyone likes the size and weight. it works fine as a replacement for basic use.

however, the wheel is buried too deep. you cannot wheel it easily, i found myself had to use finger tip more often. especially annoying is when i use the wheel click to open/close files, i have to press hard while trying not to accidently press the right button. and the wheel is too mechanical ("stiff" was the word). it is not very comfortable to use.

it is cheap and works well. but i am looking for something better.

This is not my first Logitech mouse purchase... it's probably my fifth or sixth in the last few years and have these installed on a lot of different computers. I've been in the IT field for a long time and when it comes to choosing optical mice, it's only ever Logitech.

Good fit, good movement, always reliable, great price. I've never experienced a driver conflict with any of the operating systems I use these with, and all the mice that I've purchased are still working well.

Great value, great product, would recommend Logitech without a second thought.

Since I have small hands, it has been somewhat challenging to find a computer mouse that fits. The mice I've tried have been either too large or too small. This size is just right. Having a good mouse is important to me, since as a published author I spend quite a bit of time at the computer. (See my books on Amazon.)

This mouse does not require any software or fancy installation, which is great for impatient non-geeks like me. In fact, your computer can already be on when you want to use it! All you have to do is put the connector cord into a USB port and it's ready to use.

Too bad this comes only in basic black. However, when I type I'm not looking at the mouse anyway. Plus, the price is right. You should be able to get one for under $15.00.

So if you want a basic, corded optical mouse for a reasonable price, this is a good one to get -- provided, of course, it fits your hand.

Very solid design, well Engineered, with no painted surface to wear off with time, and minimal crevices to collect dirt. Best mouse yet in my opinion, and at such a good price! Only possible improvement is the removal of all crevices, a thing achieved only by the Apple mouse series; otherwise perfect.

I am quite satisfied with this mouse. It fits my hand well, better then the Microsoft product. The wheel is stiff which I approve of as it helps keep mistakes minimal. For the people viewing this review who care about such things, it looks nice and goes with a black themed system.

Very happy with my new mouse. No track ball to drag around. It runs smoothly over the mousepad with no hesitation at all. Good choice!

I bought this mouse from CompUSA to replace older Logitech Optical Mouse.

As you know, The difference in Optical Mouse and Mechanical mouse is Optical Mouse uses a small LED light to track movement and Mechanical mouse uses a ball with few rollers. Mechanical mouse require maintenance because the rollers that move the ball around tend to get dirty. Optical Mouse require hardly any maintenance. However, Mechanical mouse only uses 5mA or less electrical power as opposed to Opticals 25mA. Power usage is only a concern in wireless mostly or in computers with smaller power supplies.

Anyways, this is a black optical mouse and you can't see the LED light from the sides. And I have used it for few years now without incident.

My dad's tech savvier than most, but he appreciates simplicity and ease of use above all else when it comes to his personal computer set-up. So, while I started out looking at the shiny logitechs with a zillion buttons, I went with this one for him. It's optical with the two standard buttons and the middle button scroll. Doesn't need batteries since it's got a wire. Best of all: no installation of software and no checks for updates. Just plug it in and you're good to go.

My dad and I both are very happy.
