5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use and high resolution for picture., October 26, 2003
By
This review is from: Logitech ClickSmart 820 DualCam (Personal Computers)
This camera is easy to use and better than another brand of camerea I have use before. I used to own Vivitar Vivicam 3625 2.1MP Digital Camera but it was diffcult to use. The button on the camera was hard to use. I am so glad that I got this camera and get rid of my Vivitar camera. Logitech Clicksmart 820 is a little heavier than other type camera such as the model I just mention earlier from Vivitar. Overall is not too bad. The downside about this camera, well, not just this camera but this goes to a lot of camera, is the internal memory is pretty small. It has 8 MB of internal memory, which if you're really going on a trip and use this camera to take picture at 1600 by 1200 then I would suggest you need to buy at least 64MB of SmartMedia Card. According to Logitech information said this camera can take 12 pictures in 1600 by 1200 in 8 MB but from what I have test out the camera. It actually can take up 18 pictures in 1600 by 1200. I have add on a 128 MB SmartMedia Card for my camera so I can actually take picture in 1600 by 1200 app. 280 or a little more pictures, which to me that is a lot of picture!!!!-- If you're taking picture in 640 by 480, that'll be over 1000 pictures. I don't think I will ever reach the max. since I don't take picture very often.

Some information show in the logitech camera is not 100% correct. For example the camera has a timer setup and it is 10 sec. timer, but it is actually about 15 second before it takes the picture even though 10 sec. is what it'll shows on your LCD screen from your camera. Also the number that showed how many pictures you have left to take isn't correct either. Let's just say you'll 12 pictures show on your LCD is available for you take to pictures. but you can actually take up 18 pictures before it reachs the 0. It wasn't too bad since it only showed less pictures which you can take more than what it showed better than showing more pictures to take but endup taking fewer pictures than it showed. Overall I would strongly recommend Clicksmart 820 from other brand of camera that is similar to this one and also those previous model of clicksmart camera as well. ClickSmart 820 has LCD color screen, quicksend, 2x precision digital zoom and external SmartMedia memory slot (for more memory for your camera) that does not has from it older model of ClickSmart. Buy smart and use smart with ClickSmart 820. Except one thing I forget to mention, this camera also has a video mode for recording video in 320 by 240 in digital camera and 640 by 280 in webcam. If you ask. is it a good video recorder? Well, I will have to say don't count on it. The video mode is nice to play around but don't expect your video to be as good as a real video camera. Since video mode will not have flash light on, it will need a place that has a lot of light for it to work a little better. Even though Logitech did not say this is a 3 in 1 camera use, they're somehow consider as 3 in 1 and personally to me, I will only consider 2 in 1 only, which are digital camera and webcam. Video mode is useless to me because of its low resolution and no flash light on even though this camera has microphone build in. Then again if you're looking for similar camera that has 3 in 1 in perfect quality of both pictures and videos, I would have to say that is no such camera can do that. (At least not right now). This camera is great for personal use but not great for professional use.

4.0 out of 5 stars Only one reason for one less star.........., March 3, 2004
This review is from: Logitech ClickSmart 820 DualCam (Personal Computers)
NO INSTRUCTIONS!! Well, no sufficient instructions....it's basically a "you figure it out" kinda camera. Don't let this hinder you if you are considering buying this camera, though...because with the digital technology the way it is now...it's no problem at all to figure the buttons out.
Two years ago, i bought a $400.00 digital camera and brought it back because i hated it....couldn't move the slightest bit because the pictures came out blurry...could hardly breath when you were snapping a picture!! The Logitech 820 takes AWESOME digital pictures!! Better than the 400 dollar camera i had bought!!
It also takes really good still shots from the webcam itself...such high quality and definition. I have yet to use the webcam capabilities, but i'm sure i won't be disappointed.
The main reason i bought this camera was for the "digital camera" mode. I really wasn't expecting the quality i received for the price i paid. My advice for someone who doesn't want to shell out the big bucks for a digital camera.....is to buy this Logitech 820. You will NOT be disappointed. I do also agree with the suggestion of the first reviewer....buy yourself a bigger memory card...and some extra AAA batteries!! You'll be snapping pictures like a fool with this camera!!

4.0 out of 5 stars good camera when not connected, September 20, 2005
This review is from: Logitech ClickSmart 820 DualCam (Personal Computers)
I love these clicksmart cameras. I had a 510 before, and it got stolen so I got this to replace it. Its supposed to be a step up from the 510, but the only grip I have on it is that the live feed to the computer is grainy. Even the pics that come out when attached to the computer is grainy. I've checked all settings and it is still the same. The 510 didn't have this problem. Pictures taken when not connected come out great.
