5.0 out of 5 stars Great camera! Very good video and microphone
I am having a very good time using this camera when I am talking to my family and friends. It has a good quality video. Camera automatically adjusts brightness depending on the light level in your room. The built-in microphone is very sensitive. I don't need to shout in order to be heard clearly. 3.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre Video Camera
I purchased this camera for its price point. It worked well on my computer, but it had trouble with installation on other computers. The software for the device (and you can find updates on logitech's website) is not the best. The sound quality is reasonably low, but to be expected with the price point. My largest argument against this camera is that it is quickly...

5.0 out of 5 stars Bang for your buck, September 15, 2008

I thought I'd get some crappy little device that probably wouldn't work for the price (total of $13, including shipping) but it works and works great!

Suggestion: Download the driver from logitech.com under the download section

4.0 out of 5 stars Great starter webcam, and Vista compatible., March 4, 2009
This review is from: Logitech QuickCam IM (961459) (Electronics)
Great camera. I bought it for my toshiba satellite laptop, with Windows Vista. I simply plugged in the camera, Vista recognized it and downloaded the drivers and the Logitech program, and I was good to go. The picture quality seemed a little poor, at first, but as soon as I adjusted the focus, it was pristine. The video is a bit delayed, but why wouldn't it be when transmitting video over the web. The cameras on big news stations are just as delayed. I'm sure there are cameras that are better out there, but the quality, ease of use, and reliability of this camera make it excellent. Plus, it works with Vista, and very little components seem to work with Vista.

I bought this during my husbands first overseas deployment. It lasted the whole year. It has fallen, been handled by an infant and toddler and still worked great for the whole year. We even shipped it to a new house, totally mistreated it due to the kids and cat. When I needed it again for another deployment, it still works! It is totally worth the twenty dollars I paid. The picture is fine and sound is alright. Easy to install and set up. If and when I break it, I will buy another just like it.

The software for the device (and you can find updates on logitech's website) is not the best. The sound quality is reasonably low, but to be expected with the price point. My largest argument against this camera is that it is quickly being out dated. If your needs are minimal and you have the patience to deal with lousy software, then this is the camera for you!

3.0 out of 5 stars Does the job but not a top notch level webcam, May 17, 2008

I would've given this 4 Stars but there was a slight mishap with the software, so features like the Control Privacy Shade and Video Effects don't work. I re-installed the package but that didn't help. Luckily they aren't features i care much about so no harm done, but nevertheless it gets one less star.

Overall it's what you might expect; your basic webcam package which does what it was designed to do. If you're after a top notch webcam I'd suggest getting one of the more pricey models.

A down side to it is if you are in a low-lit room & have to select the Low Light Boost you will get a reduced frame rate which gives the impression of a time delay of around 1-2 seconds. But really it's nothing major unless you are after supreme picture quality (which by the way with this model, and others that I've seen, the picture is a little grainy but far from bad).

The 1.3 MP picture taking feature is pretty good. It takes better pics than my digital camera! (then again my digicam is fairly old as far as digicams go).

I haven't really tried out the built-in mic feature properly but again you get what you pay for, I kind of had to talk in a raised voice for it to be picked up properly. But i'm sure with some proper tinkering that could be fixed.

Overall the price is good for what it is but for those wanting supreme quality, top of the range webcams would be better for you.

Can't tell much more about this product right now. Seems ok, resolution is good; but frame rate is low. I bought from company GearXS. They send me only webcam. But,no software, no head phone etc what they supposed to send me with this product. I Called them, they send me link for software. but they did not send me head phone still now.
