This joystick is a great buy! The throttle helps lots during a flight game. This joystick is also good for driving too. The base is nice and big, so the joystick doesn't move around when your playing a computer game. The grip is very good and it's hard to lose it! This definatly is the best joystick in the price range.

I'm a big logitech fan, since they tend to deliver solid, quality equipment that won't let you down. This joystick is a great example - simple, sturdy and versatile.
I don't play many top-end flight sims, but I can imagine if you did you might find that a more complex, button-riddled stick may suit you more. However, for all you amatuer fighter-pilots this 6-button stick (with built in throttle) should be right up your exhaust - smooth and solid to handle (I hate sticks which feel too loose), with a nice heavy base to keep you on the desktop when the MiG's start buzzing too close.
Naturally you can customize the buttons for different games, and the base-mounted throttle is easy to reach and smooth to operate.

You might find the slider-throttle tricky to reach in a hurry if you prefer to play flight game's with both stick and keyboard; but for the most part its a great addition, and saves you having to splash out on a seperate throttle or to keep a finger over those + and - keys all the time ;) I find the two base mounted keys ideal for mapping to the left and right yaw in flight games, and plus this keeps your hands over the throttle.

Junior top gun's will enjoy the easy setup and installation through the USB port, and the simple attractive design will go great with that bomber jacket and aviator shades. Kick the tires and light the fires...

I bought this joy stick because I really liked its design and ergonomics. The installation was a snap and the profiler software it comes with is easily configurable. However, it became completely unplayable after a few minutes (I was playing Grand Theft Auto) because it's calibration messed up. Now, I know my way around computers, but there is nothing I could do to fix the calibration, aside from unplugging/re-plugging the damn joystick every few minutes (not acceptable). I tried the newest drivers/software, removing the profiler, doing manual re-calibration, but I never got it to work properly. If you search the net, you'll see that many people had this problem, but Logitech never formally responded to it (bad customer support from my point of view). I have Windows 2000 professional installed, so I don't know if this is OS specific problem (again based on my research it seems to happen on other platforms as well). My advice, stay away from this Joystick and get something better (I got a Saitek controller and it works great). Oh, and, of course, do your research before you buy.

I have had this joystick for a few months now and I have not found a game that it is not compatible with. But sometimes I get error messages from windows like "Device is malfunctioning, try unplugging it and replugging it in again" that doesn't work and I have to restart my pc. Otherwise it is a pretty good joystick overall.

This is a well designed joystick with multiple controls which are laid out cleverly so that you have discreet areas for each control. That way you are less likely to hit the wrong one by accident.

I have it connected to a Dell dimension computer. Installation took all of about two minutes. Load the CD, when prompted you plug in the joystick, and then you test the settings. And that's it. Couldn't be simpler.

Nice heavy base to prevent it jumping around, and the handle is perfect for adult hands, although small kids might find it all a bit large.

This stick is exactly what you need if you are a budding flight sim player this was my first joystick............the reason i say it is good for buddung flight simulator player is that if you are not sure how much money you are willing to spend this is a good start...it lasts long......great positioning of bottuns (except throttle....kinda tricky)....and of course inexpensive......Just one question....from you other gamers.......does the throttle on this stick not work with IL2-sturmovik:Forgotten battles or is something wrong with the joy stick.....?...excuse my over use of periods

That's right, this product has served me since December 2001. It has a decent amount of features, does exactly what it is supposed to and I have only ever found a few faults with it.

The throttle can be either two way or one way... and for some reason it has been one way for about two years and I have no idea why. It could be the way it talks to Windows 7, it could be the game, or it could be that it's just old. I dunno. The other is that the stick has developed a pull, to the right front. This is age and wear, I am sure of. The stick has become much looser over the years and kind of rests that direction.

The fact that this stick has lasted for this long and has only developed two issues (neither particularly game breaking), is a testament to the design.

I am finally retiring this stick and upgrading to a stick and throttle, but I just wanted to give a review of the stick that has seen me through Jane's flight sims to Mechwarrior 4 to the modern day. It has outlasted every other gaming accessory I have ever purchased and would likely last for years to come.

People may talk bad about Logitech and say other companies make better products... but this particular product lasted ten years of regular use. I got it with my first desktop computer and I'm typing this on my third. And yet that same joystick is sitting beside my fourth monitor.

Best purchase I ever made.

This is hardly a "deluxe" model, but it's a good stick for under $20. Compared to joysticks costing $30 or more, the WingMan feels like it has too many loose-fitting parts, and the buttons are made from lightweight, cheesy-looking plastic. But it works just fine. This is one of the few sticks I've seen that doesn't squeak or creak; a sort of rubber collar at the base creates an odd but quiet sound. Also this stick doesn't have horizontal and vertical "grooves" -- it feels the same in all directions. I like the firmness of the throttle control which lets you power up your engines smoothly. The base is heavy and stays firmly on the desk. I use it with a Dell Inspiron 4000 running Win2000. Setup was painless -- I just plugged in and calibrated. Oddly, the Windows control panel calls the throttle control a "Z-axis" instead of a "slider." This might cause a problem if your game doesn't allow you to reassign this control.

This product is a great controller, and has been compatible so far...

However, it does not seem to be compatible with Need For Speed Underground, and I have not yet got a resolution from either Logitech or EA Games.

I've used this js for plenty of titles, and it's been a trooper. I'm rough on my peripherals, and I've been through plenty of joysticks. This one has lasted for over a year. I have the kind that plugs into the sound card, but I'm more talking about the design and construction.
