This works great with the iPad 2
It is pretty loud and It stays on decent. It does slip off if it gets bumped and it makes it awkward to use with the smart cover. The main thing that I don't like is that it lacks it's own volume control. This is fine when plugged directly into the iPad, but when you plug it into the iPad dock it is full blast with no way of changing the volume because the iPads volume control is disabled when docked.
Other than that it is a nice speaker and looks good too.

If this was helpful I'd really appreciate it if you took a few seconds to hit the helpful button :) thanks

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
There is an uncountable number of devices on the market whose role is to get better sound out of your tablet/phone/whatever. These come in three general forms: docks, Bluetooth speakers and clip-ons. The Logitech Tablet Speaker is of the last class, and like pretty much every other Logitech device I have used, it combines great functionality with great ease of use.

The Tablet Speaker is an attractive oblong shape, generally square in proportions with rounded edges. A speaker is at each end behind a grille. There's a spring-loaded clip which you use to attach the speaker to your device - the clip and body have thick, soft rubber pads to prevent any scratches and hold firmly. Tucked into the back is an 11-inch cord with a stereo 1/8" phone plug on the end that plugs into your tablet. (I would prefer it if this were a right-angle plug, but it's straight.) When you pull out the audio cable, it reveals a mini-USB jack used for charging.

Yes, charging. The speaker has a lithium-ion battery inside that, fully charged, is said to run for eight hours. A short USB-to-miniUSB cable is provided for charging. There's a pushbutton on-off switch and an LED that glows green when powered on, and red when charging. Lastly, a drawstring carrying case is included.

I tested the Tablet Speaker with an iPad 2, but it should work with most any tablet. The speaker clipped securely on to either the end or the side and the cable easily reached the headphone jack. When in place, and you lay the tablet on a table, the speaker tilts it up a bit, enough for comfortable typing much like the Apple "Smart Cover" does, though it will do it in either orientation. You don't have to use the clip if you don't want to.

First I want to say that I am a professional musician and I have very expensive sound equipment including Beats by Dre Headphones; Klipsch Earbuds; Starkey custom made in ear monitors that cost $600.00 a pair. I usually don't give reviews unless I am endorsing a product but after reading some of the reviews, I had to offer my two cents. I would like to preface this review by saying that the cost of my LOogitech tablet was under $20.00 so I would not expect a $20.00 product to sound like one that cost fives times the price.
I was amazed at the reviews that I was reading about this product. People were critiqing it like this was for an audiophile. I am very impressed with this $20.00 speaker for my IPad 2. It is very nice for a quick portable set up like a hotel room or airport lounge. Being a musician (and especially being a drummer) I have a plethora of things to carry while on the road and to have a speaker that works on my IPhone and my Ipad that is light and does not need batteries is a "Blessing!" For $20.00 this is one of the best speakers I have heard and I have recorded in studios from Paisley Park to Flight time that has speakers that cost much more. The very fact that this little $20.00 speaker is being mentioned with the Boses speaks well about this product.

My wife complained that her Ipad was just not loud enough when she wanted to watch a movie while cooking. So I decided to buy one for her. She loved it and it solved her problem.

So I bought two more and gave one to my 87 yr old Mom who is almost deaf. Once she heard how well it worked on her Ipad she started to cry. Maybe it was the first time she could actually hear her Ipad.

In any case this little speaker worked very well for our family. This is not some big stereo sound, but for us it is perfect.

I have the similar Logitech sound bar for my laptop, so based on a positive experience with that one, I purchased this model for an iPad 2. It's definitely an improvement over the iPad's built-in speaker, but sound quality is only adequate, in my opinion. It's fine for podcasts and some types of video, but music and movie sound is not great. It's also a little bit of a hassle to have to charge the speaker and the battery runs down relatively quickly. If I had it to do over again, I would have just spent more and gotten a Bluetooth speaker, like the ones from Jawbone and Altec Lansing.

I am very happy with these speakers they hook right up my mp3 player, tablet or any other standard sound making thing! Though they might not have the sound of a $500.00 dollar sound system they also don't have the cost, what they do have is a suprisingly good , loud sound that's rich and full . They are very portable and recharge from a mini usb, this is one of my favorite buys this year!
