Flawless wireless function, but flaws as a controller,
By
This review is from: Logitech Cordless Controller for Xbox (Personal Computers)
In terms of its wireless functionality, the cordless controller is flawless. There is no lag or any other indication that you are not actually wired to the Xbox.Unfortunately, that quality isn't matched by the controller itself. Although only a bit larger than the S Controller, the cordless controller is much heavier. This is in large part due to the four AA batteries it requires, but it becomes noticeable as you play for a while. For marathon gaming sessions, this is not the controller of choice. The controller also has some functionality issues. The digital pad is imprecise; frequently you hit left and get left-up, for example. The analog sticks have a little drift in them, too, pulling toward the left even after you center them--this is not a terribly big deal unless you tend to actually release the stick (and the sticks on Microsoft's S Controller tend to pull up in my experience, so it's rather a wash there). I got this controller so I wouldn't be sitting on the floor playing games and wouldn't have extension cords strung all the way to the couch. For that purpose, it's fine, even with its shortcomings. But the product leaves me with the nagging feeling that it could and should have been a lot better.

This is a good controller,

I previously owned the Lynx Mad Catz (3 different ones acutally). The problem with the Lynx model was the thumbstick controllers would lose accuracy after several months of use. For instance, I would push the thumbstick to the limit and the game would react is if the thumbstick was moved only a small amount from the center. One of my games has a controller callibration screen where you can see the signal being sent from the controller thumsticks. Using this screen I could see the Lynx controller was very inconistent. I've had my logitech controller for about 4 months and it is still working flawlessly. On my callibration screen, it is the most accurate controller compared to the Lynx and the Microsoft s. I was worried that the logitech thumbsticks would not be easy to use due to the shape. It turns out that the rubber used on the thumbsticks gives your thumb a good grip and there is no issue with the shape. The triggers are a little too sensitive. They will sometimes fire when they are touched accidentally.

This controller is great. It frees you from those messy,tangle-prone wires. The controller is similar to the Japanese Xbox controller (Controller S) except that it is a little wider, and heavier. The Left/Right triggers are a little harder to press,though...
I had one problem though.I play Xbox Live a lot,and you probably know that you use a communicator headset, which plugs into the controller. There is no expansion/memory card plug-in on the controller. It's on the wireless reciever,on your Xbox. This controller is perfect for offline play,but...You know.
