2.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy if using other system than windows
I own the Logitech Cordless Navigator Duo since about 6 month now.

First the good news:
The mouse is great, it's ergonomic, has two buttons plus the wheel which incorporates a third button. The handling of the mouse is very nice and precise, it works on almost any surface.

The bad news:
I am running a variety of operating systems: Windows 2000, DOS, Gentoo...

I recently recieved the Cordless Navigator Duo as a "get well soon" gift of sorts for recently having had serious knee surgery. My computer illiterate dad was able to set the keyboard and mouse up for me in minutes and as long as you install the included software, everything works flawlessly. you can easily program buttons to open up frequently used applications, web sites or folders, and it is perfect for my music collection. It can switch tracks, adjust volume, pause, play, stop, and eject a cd all without opening your media application (iTunes, WinAmp, etc.) The keyboard is extremely quiet and comfortable and the mouse works great on any surface. I love this thing.
So believe me this product works PERFECTLY on a mac running OSX.

5.0 out of 5 stars very good wireless combo, October 18, 2003

I recently tried a Microsoft wireless combo to replace a wrecked keyboard on my HP PC. I exchanged the MS for the Logitech and am much happier. The big difference is the layout of the Function keys and keys over the arrow keys. The MS board has the F1-F12 keys in four groups of three; the Logitech has them in three groups of four, like every other keyboard I use. The MS board also had a different arrangement of the Insert, Delete, Home, End, Page Up and Page down keys; on the the Logitech they're in a "standard" 2X3 arrangement.

If you only use one computer, the key layout is no big deal. If you use more than one, the differing layout can be very annoying.

FWIW, I also prefer the shape of the Logitech mouse.

Update: The batteries in the mouse lasted about 4 months; pretty good considering that the LED is always on. The batteries in the keyboard are still going strong. On average I use them almost daily for 1-2 hours/day.

5.0 out of 5 stars great product, works for Linux, December 5, 2003

I love this product. It's very easy to set up. It has both the USB interface and the conventional PS2 keyboard/mouse interfaces. I get it work with both my Linux box (vis PS2 port) and Windows box (using USB) without any hassle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Only 1 bad point, August 3, 2004

I bought this combo for use in an office setting. It was simple to set up and works great. As it is for office use, I was looking for a simple keyboard without all the extra buttons for media, e-mail, webcam, etc, but could not find one. However, if you don't need those extra functions, you won't need to install the included software.

The only downside to this keyboard is there are no indicator lights for caps lock or num lock. However, it is such a small inconvenience I still give it five stars.

I own the Logitech Cordless Navigator Duo since about 6 month now.

First the good news:
The mouse is great, it's ergonomic, has two buttons plus the wheel which incorporates a third button. The handling of the mouse is very nice and precise, it works on almost any surface.

The bad news:
I am running a variety of operating systems: Windows 2000, DOS, Gentoo Linux and BeOS. The keyboard does ONLY work as it is supposed to with Windows and DOS. All the other systems are a nightmare with this keyboard. The so-called "ghost letters" appear constantly. This means that when I am typing in any software, letters appear which I did not type, on it's own. In my case it's the "q" letter. On other occasions it's just a space. This mostly happens when I use the backspace key--the keyboard inserts a space on it's own.
This really is a nightmare if you regulary write emails etc., the only work-around is to use the delete-key instead of the backspace key. On Linux it also seems to help to disable the F-keys. However, then you won't be able to use the F-Keys.

I know I am not alone with this problem. If you google for the phrase "unknown e1 escape sequence" in Google Groups, you will notice that several people have the same problem and noone ever found a solution.

Afterall I really urge everybody who wants to use other systems than Windows not to consider this keyboard, it will drive you crazy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Mac Compatible! Great keyboard & mouse combo., December 29, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Logitech Cordless Navigator Duo ( 967232-0403 ) (Personal Computers)
A previous reviewer gave this product 1 star and said its Mac compatibility was poor. IMHO, his/her reasoning is flawed. (not having enough USB ports on your machine is not a valid reason) Either buy a more modern machine, which has more ports, or buy a USB hub. The reviewer also claimed that the mouse required a PS/2 port in order to be used. It does not, and is wireless just like the keyboard.

I personally own 2 of these for my 2 Mac's at home and have given one to my Mom for Christmas to compliment her iBook. They all work very well, and are very customizable and easy to use.

The only complaint I have is the lack of an ON/OFF switch to save the batteries. However, I just bought some rechargeable AA's, and all is well. Very good product with high recommendations!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great technology that works, January 10, 2005

This review is from: Logitech Cordless Navigator Duo ( 967232-0403 ) (Personal Computers)
Need a wireless keyboard and mouse combo? The Navigator Duo will do the trick. Set up is quite easy: plug in the two receiver cables into your computer and push a few buttons. (It's just too bad the instructions are confusing.) One further comment on set up: be sure to heed the instructions and put the receiver away from your monitor, speakers, etc.

Once you've completed the install, you can enable the encryption of the keyboard signals. A word about that: without the encryption, it is technically possible for someone to intercept the signals sent from your keyboard to the receiver and capture your keystrokes (think passwords, credit card numbers, etc). So, I highly recommend that you enable the keyboard encryption!

The mouse and keyboard both are easy to use and feel comfortable in your hand(s). The mouse provides a definite "click" sound and feel when you click, so you'll never wonder if you clicked or not. The scroll wheel is pretty smooth and rolls easily, with just a bit of resistance so that you'll know you really are scrolling. The keyboard can lay nearly flat, if you wish, and gives a good amount of feedback on keypress without any loud clicking noise. Some people may think the keys are a tad on the soft-side, but I don't think it'll be a problem for anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is an excellent Keyboard And Mouse, January 16, 2005

I purchased this from Amazon and I got this in two days with free shipping. Just plugged in receiver to USB port and insert the batteries. Amazingly both keyboard and Mouse started working without any settings or restart of my computer. Howerver you need to install provided software if you want to use complete multimedia keys. I am using this for my Compaq presario laptop. All keys are working fine after I install the included softwre. Great package and great deal from Amazon.

WOW !!!
that's all i can say about this product. Initially i didn't trust the wireless keyboard and Mouse cause of the problems that i generally encountered with other brands and models but this Logitech Cordless Navigator Duo is great.
As soon as i plugged it in i had to press only 3 buttons to enable the keyboard and the mouse...

No problems whatsoever till date.
In addition the range for this is arnd +50ft that is awsome....
hey i have plugged my PC into my Home Theatre sys.

be confident and have no hickups whatsoever....

Get rid of those messy cables.........
