If you wear glasses, consider getting a different headset. Because this is a behind the head model, it rests on your ears -- similar to a pair of glasses. If you already wear glasses (like I do) you will most likely find it uncomfortable. The headset does have exceptional voice pickup and sound quality (for gaming) however. It is just a bit uncomfortable with glasses.

This is my second logitech headset. My first one is a Logitech Internet Chat Headset with item model # 980158-0403. Each of these two headsets has a microphone. The price of this one is a little bit lower, but that doesn't mean this one is worse. In fact, after compared them for a while, I have to say this one has a better sound quality. Maybe just as the description, this one is designed for PC games, that one is only for chat. Maybe, the price difference is because # 980158-0403 comes with four plates with different colors. A brief comparison (0 is worst and 5 is the best) is given as follows:

I think for a headset, the most important thing is the sound quality and being comfortable to wear. I don't care how many colors it comes with.

This is a great headset for the price, but I ran into some comfort issues. This headset wraps around the back of the head, not over the top and there is a groove along the band where the wire connects the left speaker to the right speaker. This band sits on top of your ears and after extended use, the channel tends to abrade the ears. Bummer, cuz it's great in every other respect.

I was at first surprised to get this thing in less than 24 hours. I plugged it into my PC and used it right away. I was able to hear music from games and people's voices very clearly and the people I talked to said that my voice was coming in perfectly. I just find this works extremly well.

I only use this for Skype, so this is not a detailed review.

This headset is great for Skype. All I need from it is for it to be bearable to wear for short periods of time; I need to be able to understand the other person; and the other person needs to be able to understand me. This headset fulfills all those requirements, so I am a happy customer.

Edit: I have been through two of these headsets already. The first one I broke by tripping over and destroying the plug. The second one failed on me for no apparent reason (microphone stopped working even with mute switch turned off). Now that Amazon does not carry this headset anymore, I do not think it's worth the price. I got it before for about $15, but now I see that it's selling for over $20. I recommend you look at another headset unless you find a good deal.

I had had these headphones for a while now, and I have to say I am quite satisfied.

They do not hurt my ears, and I use them for 6+ hours at a time.

The sound quality is great, as is the microphone quality.

I'm gonna start the review out with pros and cons.

---------Pros
*Excellent sound FOR gaming.

*You can rotate the Mic so it is closer to your mouth; or away from it when not in use.

*Not usb. Personally i think non-usb is better because you won't have to mess with the sound in control panel/ game options.

*The Mic is EXCELLENT. Works superb in game. I've played with it in L4d, and TF2 so far, everyone can hear me well.

*CHEAP price.

---------Cons

*This Headset is not designed to go over your head. It's designed to go around the back of your head. At first it looks weird, but you get used to it.

*The Headphones rest on your ears, so I promise you after 30 mins at most; your ears will begin to hurt. It's uncomfortable.

*If you wear glasses, then you will have to kind of spend 1-2 mins adjusting the headphones so they will fit. Even after that they are a little misplaced.

--------What you need
* You need 2 "holes" for your plugs to go in to. One hole for the Headphone plug, and one hole for the mic plug. You can find these holes in the back/front of the pc. They are easy to spot. The Headphone hole always has a little Headphone icon next to it and the Mic hole has a Mic icon next to it. If your pc doesn't have the icons, then the Headphone hole is always green colored(or black in some cases); and the Mic hole is always RED/ red-ish.

What i have to say:

In my opinion, I recommend to only get this if you are low on the $$$ or you really want to spend money. Don't get this is you wear glasses. A major downside of the product is that it doesn't go over your head, it rests on your ears and causes discomfort to the ears after a little use. The sound quality is good, but not excellent. The Bass is a little higher for the games, but for the music, its OK. I use a program-equalizer on my computer, so for me the headphones work. The mic is great for voice communication on skype or PC games. It's not like the cheap ones you get at Target. If you want a good mic/headphone combo, I strongly suggest checking out newegg.(google it if you don't know what newegg is).

I have owned and used 4 pairs of these pieces of shit. They always break, I don't know what I am doing wrong, but the mic on them always gives out after a period of time of probably 1-3 months. I have taken the headsets back and returned them for another pair thinking it was just a defect, but then again another 2 months and they break. The people who are giving good reviews probably don't use them for talking on ventrilo, or teamspeak, and might not know how horrible of quality they are, since only when you use them for communication do you realize they don't work after a while.

Anyone who is considering these headsets don't buy them for gaming. They hurt your ears badly, and the mic consistently breaks. Overall its a very poorly built product.

If you are a gamer, this is a pretty strong headset and for the price, you can't go wrong. The ear pieces go around most of your ear, the headset feels solid while you are wearing it, and the sound is great. The microphone works fine, and the volume dial on the cord is useful. It's a standard mic in/headset out connection...NOT USB, which to me is a positive since my expensive USB set gave me too many problems. Sound is supposed to go through the SOUND card...not USB ports!

First of all, I was amazed at the speed of delivery! Second, I have owned many different headsets and I absolutely thought my previous set was the best I had ever purchased. There is a very distinctive increase in sound quality with this headset! Not to mention, they are so much lighter and comfortable then my previous set. I wish I had more info on the person that says they are having problems with others hearing them on the mic. NO problems here at all. As a matter of fact, with this headset, I had to uncheck my mic boost in the advanced sound options! As an avid gamer for 5 years now, for the moment, this headset simply can't be beat. Especially for this price!
