Customer Reviews

Keys feel very nice.
Jimmy Quach
The video gamer can use the G-key in conjunction with the MR key to record a macro (a series of keystrokes) for quick game action.
Alan Rivière
The backlighting for the keys is a really nice feature, as I do my gaming in a room with less light.

This is the same keyboard as the Call of Duty MW3 G105 keyboard. The only difference is that the Call of Duty version has a Call of Duty logo at the top of the keyboard and the keys for the MW3 version light up green, while this version light up blue. And the MW3 keyboard goes for between 22 and 30 bucks here on amazon and this version currently goes for about 60 bucks. So as long as you don't mind a 1 by 3 inch Call of Duty MW3 logo that version may be a much better deal for you. Either way this keyboard has very nice back lighting on the keys and for twenty or thirty bucks is an extremely good deal. Very responsive, and way better than any other keyboard in that price range. I myself just put a very nice Adventure Time sticker right over the lame Call o' Duty logo. :)

This Logitech G105 Gaming Keyboard resembles a standard PC keyboard in most ways. The dimensions are approximately the same, measuring 18-3/4 inches long and 6-1/2 inches tall. There is a full numeric keypad on the right. The keyboard connects to the computer via a USB 2.0 cord. This keyboard is plug-n-play. There is no software CD, only a folded sheet of brief instructions with pictures in multiple languages.

The keyboard is backlighted with each key individually illuminated by a blue LED light from below, except for the three M keys and the MR key. A special key right of top center toggles the LEDs among low, high, and off. There is no choice in LED color. There are three indicator lights for caps lock, num lock, and scroll lock just above the numeric keyboards. There is a set of seven media F-keys to control audio and video outputs. The key travel resembles that of a full travel keyboard. The keystrokes are crisp and definite. PC video gamers will appreciate the feel.

This keyboard is called "gaming keyboard" on account of the sets of six G-keys, three M-keys and a MR key. A G-key is a programmable key representing a special video game function. The video gamer can use the G-key in conjunction with the MR key to record a macro (a series of keystrokes) for quick game action. The three M-keys expand the functions of the six G-keys to three different video games. To use the game keys, the gamer must download and install the gaming software at the Logitech website. The set of main gaming keys, WASD, is colored gray for quick recognition. There is a "Game/Desktop Mode Switch" at the left of top center which the gamer uses to disable window key functions.

I like this keyboard a lot! It is replacing a wireless keyboard that I was using because I couldn't see the keyboard at night. The back-light is bright enough on both settings for play in a dark room and the blue color is easy on the eyes. The legs to prop up the keyboard could be a little longer or perhaps have more settings as I feel the keyboard is hardly tilted for my liking. The keystrokes are firm and not sticky or or loud when typing. I did have a problem with the left shift key sticking down causing all my typing to go caps locked but it has stopped now. The keyboard stays in place well on my glass table so I have no problems with it moving while I am typing like I did with the last keyboard.

Update (9/20/13)
Well I'm using the keyboard now and it's still pretty good. The initial left shift key still sometimes sticks but that is only when I use lots of pressure on the key. So I took off a star. I thought it might have been a key needing to be broken in but that is not the case.

Otherwise the Keyboard is great. Going to start using it for games in the future so I will update again as I see how it does for that. The lights are still great in my dark room.update

update 5/25/14
Still using this keyboard at work now. The back lights are still fine and are bright. Sadly the Shift key problem is getting worse and a few other keys get stuck now. Kind of sad that it's like this after a year. I'll keep using it though but you have to be careful when typing.

For the last several years, I've been using a Logitech Illuminated Ultrathin Keyboard with Backlighting, which has been an incredible keyboard, but isn't designed for gaming. Even though I have all of the keys mostly stored in muscle memory, it can be useful to glance down at the keyboard when I need to find a button, and for this reason, backlit keyboards are a huge plus. The G105 is the lower end of the Logitech G-Series gaming keyboards. The first advantage the G105 has over my keyboard, is that it's more rugged, and can stand up to some heavy pounding on the space and WASD keys. It is also much easier to clean since there is more spacing behind the individual keys. There are two brightness levels and, although my previous keyboard has three, the two included on the G105 I think are sufficient for most people's needs. It's very easy to adjust the back lighting on the fly and then cut it back off again when you need more darkness.

Programmable G-Keys - this is the real advantage of the G105 and why you might want a gaming keyboard. There are 6 "G" keys that can be used to program macros. They are on the left hand side, so they're in convenient reach of the WASD movement keys. I have only set up some very basic macros with them, but it seems to work well and the response time is instant. It allows you to record macros mid-game, but I've found this a bit difficult to do so far, and haven't been able to get any working correctly that I tried. It is easier to just use premade macros. I have been using the G105 with the
