If you want the G9X but don't want to pay full price, this is the way to go. I did some price searching and found the MW3 edition here to be around half the price of a new G9X anywhere else. I'm not a Call of Duty enthusiast so I simply covered the decal on the face of the mouse with black sharpie and no one is the wiser. I was concerned that this was a feature-lacking version of the G9X but was pleased to find that this mouse has the same weights, grips, buttons and lights as the standard G9X.

I bought this mouse to replace the Logitech Performance MX wireless mouse as the included dongle repeatedly dropped the mouse and I would have to restart my computer for the mouse to respond again. This wired mouse has saved me the trouble of a dropped signal, replacing/recharging batteries while adding many features. The current drivers for the mouse allow me to program hotkeys for ALL of the buttons including the "preset" button which I never use. These hotkeys are crucial for my work in audio editing and are a huge time saver. Additionally, the software allows you to program application specific hotkeys i.e. you can program different functions for the same button depending on which program you are using.

My only complaints are the decal and the cheesy branded mousepad (which I don't use). But really, I should be thankful for these as I can only guess that they are responsible for the lower price.

I strongly recommend this mouse to anyone who uses a mouse for repetitive work for hours on end.

I bought this mouse to replace a regular non-COD branded G9X. That one broke during.....er.... heavy gaming. OK I threw it and it hit the wall. Anyways I had to get a replacement immediately but I didn't want to pay over 60$, I found this one and after reading reviews that said it was the same internally as the regular G9X I bought it.

Awesome mouse and the thumb buttons are in perfect position. The new program to setup buttons and profiles is great too. Works with my G11 Keyboard. I don't use the weights but I love being able to switch between DPI's in game for Sniping, regular combat and flying.

I, like many others, bought it because it is a straight-up G9x mouse, but less than half the price because of the unsightly CoD3 detail. I can live with that for the $50 savings.

I am a small woman with small hands (a quick measure yields 3" across the knuckles, 6.5" from tip of middle finger to the first line in my wrist), and this mouse feels very good in my hand. My husband, who has normal-sized man hands said it felt okay in his hand, too, but for men with really big hands, it might not be a good choice unless you use a claw grip with it.

I got this mouse working well with World of Warcraft, and because it has a nice amount of buttons, I am able to bind spells and dispel on the run.

The only reason this doesn't have five stars is because of Logitech's horrible setpoint software.

I purchased one of these as a backup to my original non-CoD:MW3 mouse. I don't play CoD:MW3, but its a great price for the same mouse. My original G9X gaming mouse reivew follows and applies to this mouse as they are the same mouse:

I wanted to wait a bit before writing a review on this product, so I've owned it for almost a year now. It gets constant daily use with a SteelSeries 4HD Professional Gaming Mouse Pad (Black) which has also been a great product. I mostly use it for gaming with an exclusive focus on PvP as well as some general web browsing.

I've not owned a Logitech mouse in awhile, but I've had various other Logitech products (desktop microphone, web camera, gameboard, etc), and they've all served me long and well. Generally speaking though, the shape of Logitech mice have never been comfortable for me. I tend to use a combination of claw and fingertip grip on my mice, and the Logitech mice always seemed to be bigger, bulkier, and more suited for palm grippers. Eventually I stopped even considering Logitech mice, but that was a good while ago. I decided to take a look at their mice products once more and based on reviews went with this product instead of the Razer Lachesis or Cyborg R.A.T. mice, and I've been very happy with my purchase.

This mouse has a surprising degree of customizability. The adjustable DPI has a wide range (200 to 5000) and can be changed very easily "on the fly" via the DPI button right below the Left Click button. At first I was a bit concerned that I might accidentally hit the DPI button often, but that's never really been an issue despite its placement.

I have no love for MW3 but my last G9X developed a right click problem that was maddening. After 3 years, going through 3 sets of feet (thanks Logitech) + a roll of teflon tape its not really upsetting me that much and the left button was nearly worn through too, starting to get transparent so it was time to go. Lots of new options in the gaming mouse field but since there is no place on earth to actually hold them I am going with what I know and love, its not as exciting as a NEW toy but at least I know it wont end up as plastic shards in a drywall crater.

The bonus part is that I don't have to put up with the MW3 grip either, I just popped the old one on and away I go. Which brings up the only bad part of this mouse. The standard grip which is sort of a matte black soft touch looking thing is made of some special material that human hands can not hold securely...truly a bad call for a gaming mouse cover. The second cover with the rougher hard plastic finish does not have the thumb rest and more importantly the third glide foot which is underneath, when I tried to use it there was a scratchy drag that would rip through teflon tape in about 5 minutes, useless cover.

So since my old cover has had the slickness worn off in the critical areas yet is otherwise perfect I don't have to re-live the slick new G9X blues.

On a side note....I wonder what happened to the genius who ordered waaay too many special MW3 branded $100 mice that are still being sold at bargain prices 2 years after the game was relevant.
