5.0 out of 5 stars Made for kids but works well for me!, January 24, 2005

I have relatively small hands (I can play an octave on the piano, but it's a stretch to hit a ninth). My hands are an inbetween size that balks at full-sized mouses but cramps at grabbing travel mouses. On a whim, I tried this mouse, advertised as "2/3rds" the size of a regular mouse.

It is great fit for me. It is comfortable, plus it tracks very well, and feels as smooth as any mouse I've ever owned.

Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ladybug Mouse, July 20, 2005

We love the ladybug mouse. We've hooked it up and our 2-year old daughter can use it with no problem. Also, it is not so small that it doesn't fit comfortably in our adult hands either.

Excellent mouse. It has been used with both an averatec pc laptop and an apple macbook white. It has held up for for the last 2.5 years and is continuing to serve its function well. It's optical so it does not need to be cleaned as often as a traditional ball mouse.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best mouse ever., January 20, 2007

Inexpensive, eye-catching, small enough to take with your laptop without being as hand-crampingly miserable or as fragile as the typical take-with-you mouse. I've had mine for ages and never had any trouble with it. Highly recommended, even if you are not a kid.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, May 31, 2008

I bought this mouse FOREVER ago - I'd say 2+ years ago, and I still use it DAILY on my home PC. I have small hands, not freakishly small, but small, and it is perfect. My husband has pretty large hands, though, and he has never complained about it being small and he also uses it on a daily basis. I am addicted to ladybugs and this product is not only perfect for my collection but VERY practical as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable and reasonably durable: a good choice., May 25, 2008
This review is from: Logitech Ladybug Kids Optical Mouse (Personal Computers)
I own one of these (I have the football version, but they're essentially the same thing with different skin) and am very pleased with it.

I have small hands (for comparison, my palm dimension is roughly 18.5cm wide x 16.5cm long) and in terms of size, this mouse is simply perfect as it is pretty much 2/3 the size of common mice. Very comfortable for long hours of use.

The surface of this mouse has a bit of rubbery feel to it, which is nice, especially when your hand is sweating (as opposed to plain/painted plastic)
Due to careless use, mine has scratches all over it, and yet it still feels comfortable to hold.

Regarding cosmetic durability, this mouse is great. Colours don't fade off or smudged.

In terms of optical tracking, I've no complaints whatsoever. It reliably performs well. Just don't use it on highly glossy/reflective surfaces.

Some things you might want to know:

1. The cable for this mouse doesn't bend effortlessly (maybe they use solid instead of stranded wires inside?) and leaves bend marks, which are kind of ugly. It can get annoying from time to time.

2. Used on different surfaces without proper mousepad, the four paddings on the bottom of the mouse will eventually fall off. I notice this my all my previous Logitech mice (not sure about the high-end ones). Keep them! they keep the friction of mouse movement smooth. You can glue them back just fine.

3. Since this is an old model, it doesn't have the tilt wheel (to scroll horizontally)
The scroll wheel, like most old Logitech mice, makes a loud noise. That "RATATATATATAT" sound can get annoying if you like to work in silence.

Overall, it's still not perfect, but definitely a good choice. If you a have problem with the size of mice sold in the market (they're always either too big or too small), then give this one a try!
