5.0 out of 5 stars A quality product that delivers
Just like one of the previous reviewers, I had a MS IntelliMouse and didn't think I could ever find another that I liked as much, in spite of it's occasional nasty little habit of flipping out on me, which meant I had to reboot, and then it would be fine. 3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't last
This is my second same exact mouse. The first one didn't last that long, but I happen to like it, so purchased another. Hope this one lasts longer.

Just like one of the previous reviewers, I had a MS IntelliMouse and didn't think I could ever find another that I liked as much, in spite of it's occasional nasty little habit of flipping out on me, which meant I had to reboot, and then it would be fine. Looking back, I don't know how I put up with it for so long. One of the reason I love this mouse so much is because I have a small hand (size 5 glove if that helps you) and it fits perfectly in my hand. Very comfortable to use and I'm at it for ten, twelve hours a day. The back and forward button placement is superior to the MS mouse and much more solid and responsive. I use the scrolling wheel constantly for my particular work. The quick switch program selector button is incredible and suits my work to a tee, as I usually manage to have at least ten windows at a time open. You just click the button and up pops a menu of every window you have open, and it's in nice big print. With my old mouse, I had to keep "reigning it in" but not with this one. Very little movement required to zero the cursor in on whatever. This is an overall excellent product and I'm now sold on this brand. I would say Logitech = quality.

I am no computer whiz and have just replaced an 8 year old computer with a new, modern one. That meant getting rid of the old keyboard and mouse. I wanted to start fresh. Before, I had an old style, rolling ball mouse. I thought it worked okay at the time, but after I bought this one (it's optical, and not a rolling ball one), I was surprised by how much more stable this mouse kept the arrow key on the screen. The scroll down wheel on the top of the mouse is a wonderful extra. Instead of having to click and stay on that darn bar on the right side of the screen when you want to move a page up or down, you just roll the wheel on the mouse with your finger and it does it for you. I will never get a mouse that doesn't have that feature again. This one also has a neat feature of having two little buttons on the sides that act as your back button and your forward button. So when you want to go back to the page you were just at, you can click it with your finger instead of dragging the mouse to the back button on your screen. Super convenient and handy. There are mouses twice the price of this, but I can't imagine them being any more nicer to use. Plus I got mine on sale, so I am very satisfied with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Next best thing to the MX 500, October 20, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Logitech MX 310 Optical Mouse (Personal Computers)
I had this mouse before switching to the MX 500. Only because the price of the MX 500 dropped and I promised never to spend more than $30 on a mouse. This puppy is perfect for surfing the web and meets adequate gaming needs. it's light and great if you're left handed. If you're looking for an entry level mouse, this is the best you can get .... nothing beats it's accuracy.

5.0 out of 5 stars great mouse for Mac OSX, October 5, 2003

It's no longer a tragedy that the Mac only comes with a pathetic one-button mouse. If it came with a two-button one, it probably wouldn't be as good as this one anyway. For less than $30, you could be right-clicking, scrolling, and customizing other buttons with this baby! Nice and smooth, good feel to the buttons.

Oh, it's probably good for PC's too.

This is definitely a comfortable mouse if you don't have big hands. It is a pretty small mouse but it contours very nicely, even if you are left-handed. The extra buttons are handy for lazy people like me who don't like using the keyboard or clicking on buttons to go forward, backward, and switch between programs. The button in the middle though (the one that lets you switch programs) is out of the way. It takes just a bit more effort to use, meaning that you would have to remove your hand from the default contour to use that button. I actually hardly ever use that button. I can't live without the forward/backward buttons though. I find myself man-handling other mice thinking they too have those neat, little buttons. The mouse has a really good response to movement as well. I've used it for gaming as well, though I admit I'm not a hardcore gamer. I really recommend this mouse. I can't imagine spending more money and getting a remarkably better mouse than this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Second one - just in case..., April 3, 2008

This, IMHO, is the best mouse ever. I would now, after using it for years, have paid a lot more for it. It's a rarity to find a six button mouse, especially in this price range. Having the option to program the function of the buttons makes it even more incredible. My biggest fear was that it would someday die (although after years it's given no indication of preparing to), and I would not be able to find a comparable replacement.
So.. I'm covering that base by purchasing a second one now while they're still available.
I don't know if I'm allowed to say this, but for those of you interested Logitech makes a keyboard, either wired or wireless, that makes me just as happy; it's called the Media keyboard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Gaming/Standard Use, November 2, 2004

This mouse is the overall the "Best" mouse you can get. I put quotes around it because i know there are people out there where they buy like these 200 dollar mice and its like totally awesome, but if your using this just for like regular computer use it is the best and cheapest one you will get. And i suggest that you dont buy L0giteCh products thats under the price of 50 dollars cause i have a wireless keyboard and mice from l0gitech and although it was "Smooth" and "Easy to operate" the ball would get dirty really fast so your mouse would studder and once in awhile the keyboard and mice would lose connection to the reciever(especially if you have a sucky comp). <br /> *********************NOTE_NOTE_NOTE********** *****************<br /> <br /> For all you gamers out there this mouse gives you awesome quality! it has everything you need from the scroller to MOUSE3.<br /> Ive tested this mouse for Counter-Strike, Starcraft, Warcraft, and SIMS. If you play one of these games and dont wanna spend a whole lot o money for a mouse this Mouse is definetly for you.

I just got this mouse on Amazon and love it. It's accurate and smooth and very comfortable to use. The extra buttons are extremely convenient- I really like the "back" and "forward" buttons on the side for web surfing. For normal daily use, I suggest this optical mouse over the others by Logitech and Microsoft.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it!, January 15, 2010
This review is from: Logitech MX 310 Optical Mouse (Personal Computers)
I love this mouse!

I love the side/extra buttons so I don't have to click the back and forth buttons and they're customizable too. I love the wheel, everything just works really well. I don't even use a mousepad because it's so sensitive, and I have an older computer so I'm glad it comes with the adapter. I've had this for an extremely long time and I have no complaints!

Tactile: And it feels great in my hand, not too big and small and all the controls just fall in the right places.

Summary: Great features, works well, good price, looks cool. (Yay mouse!)

I would definitely get it again and recommend it to anyone.

This is a wonderful mouse. It is comfortable, stylish, and well built. If you are looking for a wired mouse, this is also an excellent value. I have been using one for about 8 months now, with no complaints at all.

Do NOT install the logitech software that comes with this product. Simple plug the mouse in, and enjoy. Installing the software is not necessary, and will just cause headaches.
