Solid Headset - Pros & Cons, October 1, 2005
This review is from: Logitech Mobile Pro Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Hey dudes!
I have been using the Mobile Pro for around 3 days now, and I'll be keeping it for good
I am also using a Treo 650 with this headset
I have used most Motorola Headsets, Plantronics, some Jabra's, etc ----- for the most part, up to now, my favorite headset is the CARDO SCALA 500 --- so I'll be reviewing the Mobile Pro against that one, head to head
The Cardo Scala 500 is a great headset, as its extremely comfortable, very loud, and pretty clear to the people who are listening to me
With that in mind, here are the PROS and CONS of the Logitech Mobile Pro ---
PROS -
1. Hearing Quality --- people on the other end of the phone think that I'm talking from a landline ---- this is probably due to the great boom mic, and I can tell that people can hear me very very clearly, definitely better than the Cardo Scala 500 in this regard
2. Volume ---- the Logitech MP is pretty loud, but not as loud as the Cardo Scala 500 ---- however, I've used the Logitech MP in my car, and the volume has been fine overall
3. Battery ---- the battery has lasted throughout the entire day - at this point, its at par with the Cardo Scala 500, if not, a bit better
4. Size ----- the headset looks very bulky, but its actually pretty small, once you fold it up - however, most other headsets are a bit smaller
5. Connection and Speed ---- no bluetooth headset has better connection and speed than the Logitech MP --- the headset picks up at the first ring, just like the Cardo Scala ---- however, the Logitech really shines with its stable connection --- I can stand pretty far away from my phone without hearing any static in my speaker --- this is the achilles heal of most headsets, ESPECIALLY the Cardo Scala, that gets static too easily ---- very little static with the Logitech Mobile Pro
CONS -
1. Comfort ---- okay - after wearing this for a few days, I've gotten pretty use to the feel of this headset --- at first, I found it uncomfortable, but now its fine ---- I wouldn't wear it for over an hour ---- my biggest complaint is the fact that I'm usually wearing glasses (whether that be regular glasses or sunglasses) --- the Cardo Scala 500 fit excellently with glasses, whereas the Logitech MP isn't as good, in its fit with glasses ---- yes, you can wear it with glasses and its still comfy, but your glasses will be pressed against the headset's plastic, making the 'sit' of your glasses a little uneven ---- keep this in mind if you talk a lot in your car with sunglasses on
2. BUTTONS --- the multifunction and volume buttons are very small, and kinda annoying to operate, once you're talking ---- the Cardo Scala clearly has the best MultiFunction button out there --- however, after some getting use to, the multifunction button upon the Logitech becomes easy to use
With that in mind ---- if you want a solid headset and aren't too concerned over the comfort issues, then this is the best headset out there --- especially if you want to be heard clearly
If volume is your number one priority, and very little else, then get the Cardo
If you want an all around great product though, then this is the headset for you
HAPPY BUYING!!!!!
------- UPDATE -------
hey dudes --- I've been wearing the headset for over a week now, and I am VERY VERY HAPPY
the connection times are speedy, sound is great, people can hear me, etc etc etc
the comfort isn't bad at all anymore ---- I'm real use to wearing it, and it feels just as comfy as any other headset -- wearing it with glasses is still a little awkward, but even that's gotten better
overall - I'm very happy with the headset and I recommend it

Finally, a practical headset, October 8, 2005
This review is from: Logitech Mobile Pro Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I've had this for about a month now. I like it more every day. Mostly, I use it in the car, commuting. Its extremely simple to operate. It holds a charge to last several days (don't know how many). Its volume control is loud enough even for me (I'm a little hard of hearing when there is background noise).
But best of all, its the first bluetooth headset I've had (Motorola :{, and Plantronics :| previously--returned) that my customers can truly hear me just fine. I've used it at the luggage carrousel in a busy airport. I've used it standing outside in the wind on a busy street corner. I've used it in my car with the windows open. I've used it in stores. It works every time--without much (if any) background noise going through my calls.
It took me the first two weeks before I realized I didn't have to do ANYTHING on my Motorola Razr phone each time I wanted to use my headset. All I do is turn on the headset and go. Its very practical and its more comfortable than I thought it would be once I got a little used to it.
Its not all that sexy looking, but it truly works. Guess I'm getting too demanding to settle for just plain sexy.

Good Choice, August 21, 2005
This review is from: Logitech Mobile Pro Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
The Logitech Mobile Pro BT headset is a good choice. I bought this set knowing that I would be an occasional user. I have this set paired with my HP IPAQ by T-Mobile and Moto Razr V3 and it works well in both cases. There have been a couple of instances of having some issues with the IPAQ sometimes, but not enough for me to downgrade my rating. The headset itself is well built and solid. The battery life has lasted my longest day of 4-5 hrs talk time. I cant imagine talking for more than 4 hrs a day (for me). The case is very handy as a charger and storage case; again, well built and solid. I have also found the connetion range to be good within 20 feet, after which the connection gets static and looses quality. The speaker is loud and I have had NO complaints about my voice reaching my callers. Incidentally I tried Motorola's HS80? and had a lot of issues with callers not being able to hear me very loudly.
PROS:
1. This is the ONLY headset (that i found) that has a boom mic wich comes very close to your mouth, so that you dont have to yell.
2. Speaker is LOUD, which works well for me b/c I'm on the road quite a bit.
3. LONG battery life.
4. Cool charger and case in one.
CONS:
1. It is Big. Even with the mic folded closed, it is a big headset and quite obvious. (I'm shameless so it really dosent bother me, but if you are looking for something sleeker and more stylish, this aint it.)
2. B/c of its size it has a strong spring that 'clamps' itself onto your ear, which 'may' cause some stiffness in the ear (otherwise its a very solid and practical design).
