Hey dudes!

I have been using the Mobile Pro for around 3 days now, and I'll be keeping it for good

I am also using a Treo 650 with this headset

I have used most Motorola Headsets, Plantronics, some Jabra's, etc ----- for the most part, up to now, my favorite headset is the CARDO SCALA 500 --- so I'll be reviewing the Mobile Pro...

1.0 out of 5 stars Great headset, but FATAL design flaw
I have owned 2 of these headsets since May 2005. Sound quality is excellent. Reliability is excellent. Fit on ear is excellent (better than the many others I have tried). Features are excellent. Then why have I owned 2 in the last 6 months?

There is a FATAL design flaw which prevents me from recommending this headset. The very thing that makes this...

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Headset - Pros & Cons, October 1, 2005

This review is from: Logitech Mobile Pro Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Hey dudes!

I have been using the Mobile Pro for around 3 days now, and I'll be keeping it for good

I am also using a Treo 650 with this headset

I have used most Motorola Headsets, Plantronics, some Jabra's, etc ----- for the most part, up to now, my favorite headset is the CARDO SCALA 500 --- so I'll be reviewing the Mobile Pro against that one, head to head

The Cardo Scala 500 is a great headset, as its extremely comfortable, very loud, and pretty clear to the people who are listening to me

With that in mind, here are the PROS and CONS of the Logitech Mobile Pro ---

PROS -

1. Hearing Quality --- people on the other end of the phone think that I'm talking from a landline ---- this is probably due to the great boom mic, and I can tell that people can hear me very very clearly, definitely better than the Cardo Scala 500 in this regard

2. Volume ---- the Logitech MP is pretty loud, but not as loud as the Cardo Scala 500 ---- however, I've used the Logitech MP in my car, and the volume has been fine overall

3. Battery ---- the battery has lasted throughout the entire day - at this point, its at par with the Cardo Scala 500, if not, a bit better

4. Size ----- the headset looks very bulky, but its actually pretty small, once you fold it up - however, most other headsets are a bit smaller

5. Connection and Speed ---- no bluetooth headset has better connection and speed than the Logitech MP --- the headset picks up at the first ring, just like the Cardo Scala ---- however, the Logitech really shines with its stable connection --- I can stand pretty far away from my phone without hearing any static in my speaker --- this is the achilles heal of most headsets, ESPECIALLY the Cardo Scala, that gets static too easily ---- very little static with the Logitech Mobile Pro

CONS -

1. Comfort ---- okay - after wearing this for a few days, I've gotten pretty use to the feel of this headset --- at first, I found it uncomfortable, but now its fine ---- I wouldn't wear it for over an hour ---- my biggest complaint is the fact that I'm usually wearing glasses (whether that be regular glasses or sunglasses) --- the Cardo Scala 500 fit excellently with glasses, whereas the Logitech MP isn't as good, in its fit with glasses ---- yes, you can wear it with glasses and its still comfy, but your glasses will be pressed against the headset's plastic, making the 'sit' of your glasses a little uneven ---- keep this in mind if you talk a lot in your car with sunglasses on

2. BUTTONS --- the multifunction and volume buttons are very small, and kinda annoying to operate, once you're talking ---- the Cardo Scala clearly has the best MultiFunction button out there --- however, after some getting use to, the multifunction button upon the Logitech becomes easy to use

With that in mind ---- if you want a solid headset and aren't too concerned over the comfort issues, then this is the best headset out there --- especially if you want to be heard clearly

If volume is your number one priority, and very little else, then get the Cardo

If you want an all around great product though, then this is the headset for you

HAPPY BUYING!!!!!

------- UPDATE -------

hey dudes --- I've been wearing the headset for over a week now, and I am VERY VERY HAPPY

the connection times are speedy, sound is great, people can hear me, etc etc etc

the comfort isn't bad at all anymore ---- I'm real use to wearing it, and it feels just as comfy as any other headset -- wearing it with glasses is still a little awkward, but even that's gotten better

overall - I'm very happy with the headset and I recommend it

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a practical headset, October 8, 2005
This review is from: Logitech Mobile Pro Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I've had this for about a month now. I like it more every day. Mostly, I use it in the car, commuting. Its extremely simple to operate. It holds a charge to last several days (don't know how many). Its volume control is loud enough even for me (I'm a little hard of hearing when there is background noise).

But best of all, its the first bluetooth headset I've had (Motorola :{, and Plantronics :| previously--returned) that my customers can truly hear me just fine. I've used it at the luggage carrousel in a busy airport. I've used it standing outside in the wind on a busy street corner. I've used it in my car with the windows open. I've used it in stores. It works every time--without much (if any) background noise going through my calls.

It took me the first two weeks before I realized I didn't have to do ANYTHING on my Motorola Razr phone each time I wanted to use my headset. All I do is turn on the headset and go. Its very practical and its more comfortable than I thought it would be once I got a little used to it.

Its not all that sexy looking, but it truly works. Guess I'm getting too demanding to settle for just plain sexy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Choice, August 21, 2005
By
Roomi (Houston, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Logitech Mobile Pro Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
The Logitech Mobile Pro BT headset is a good choice. I bought this set knowing that I would be an occasional user. I have this set paired with my HP IPAQ by T-Mobile and Moto Razr V3 and it works well in both cases. There have been a couple of instances of having some issues with the IPAQ sometimes, but not enough for me to downgrade my rating. The headset itself is well built and solid. The battery life has lasted my longest day of 4-5 hrs talk time. I cant imagine talking for more than 4 hrs a day (for me). The case is very handy as a charger and storage case; again, well built and solid. I have also found the connetion range to be good within 20 feet, after which the connection gets static and looses quality. The speaker is loud and I have had NO complaints about my voice reaching my callers. Incidentally I tried Motorola's HS80? and had a lot of issues with callers not being able to hear me very loudly.
PROS:
1. This is the ONLY headset (that i found) that has a boom mic wich comes very close to your mouth, so that you dont have to yell.
2. Speaker is LOUD, which works well for me b/c I'm on the road quite a bit.
3. LONG battery life.
4. Cool charger and case in one.
CONS:
1. It is Big. Even with the mic folded closed, it is a big headset and quite obvious. (I'm shameless so it really dosent bother me, but if you are looking for something sleeker and more stylish, this aint it.)
2. B/c of its size it has a strong spring that 'clamps' itself onto your ear, which 'may' cause some stiffness in the ear (otherwise its a very solid and practical design).

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable and clear sound quality, August 20, 2005
By
This review is from: Logitech Mobile Pro Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
So far I've tried the Motorolas, a couple of the Plantronics, a Sony, and another Logitech. This by far has been the best. It fits either of my ears just as well, the controls are easy to use and the pairing works when I turn it on. (Some of the others had to be paired each time of power up) I've asked the receiving party about the sound quality and most everyone has been happy with it. I've read the other reviews and noticed that most don't get longevity, so I'm on a wait and see since I've just purchased this product. I'll do a follow up.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Bluetooth headset that really works, November 18, 2005
This review is from: Logitech Mobile Pro Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I have a Motorola Razr phone and so I thought that a Motorola Bluetooth headset would perform the best with my phone... wrong. I returned first one and then another HS820 model because of intermittent crackling and poor voice quality reported by those I spoke with on the phone. I then tried the HS850, the latest and greatest, and the results were similar. This one also had a lower maximum earpiece volume than the HS820s. These worked OK in a quiet room, but not in any other space. Even just walking outside reduced the sound quality for the person on the other end of my call.
Frankly, I don't see how all of these compact headsets, with the mouthpiece near the ear and up against the cheek, can possibly perform all that well.

After reading mostly very positive reviews on several sites for the Logitech Mobile Pro, I decided to give it a shot... I'm very glad I did. What a difference! This is not the smallest headset, but it is the most sensible. It has an adjustable boom that places the mike much closer to the mouth. It also claims noise canceling technology and in my experience it actually works... not perfect, but pretty darn well.

One of the things that reveals the sound quality is that, so far, when I use the voice recognition dialing feature of the Razr, it has never failed to recognize the name I speak into it. With the three Motorola units I returned, I often needed to repeat the name several times before it would dial. Clearly, the microphone works much better. It may be the position closer to the mouth, or simply a better pickup, or both... but it works very well.

People on the other end of my calls have been very pleased with the sound quality, even in my car which is a noisy Honda CR-V. They can hear some background sound, but the important thing is that they can easily understand what I'm saying and the background is not overwhelming.

The earpiece volume is the loudest of all the units I tried, although I do need to press it to my ear when in a noisy outdoor space... it's to be expected.

The ear clip is unusual and not as comfortable as others, but it's not bad and it holds very well. The more I use it the less it bothers me. One very nice thing about the ear mount is that I can clip the unit to my belt when not in use.

I can't stress enough how far superior the sound of this headset is to the others I tried. I would recommend it to anybody.

4.0 out of 5 stars Satisified, June 24, 2005

So far, (6 mos+) performance has been great. I typically only need to charge 1x or 2x per week. Talk time is decent, volume control works well, and easily integrates to allow voice-dialing, call pickup, call hangup, etc. I'm very happy with the headset. It's unobtrusive and easy to clip on a shirt collar when not in use.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great headset, but FATAL design flaw, November 27, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Logitech Mobile Pro Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)

The very thing that makes this headset so comfortable (the spring loaded earpiece), is the very reason that I will be trying to return my 2nd headset. On both headsets, the earpiece broke in exactly the same spot. The first one lasted about 2 months. The 2nd one lasted about 4 months. It can't be replaced or repaired, which means I now have 2 expensive paperweights. The first time they replaced it for free. I'll try again, but since its been several months, I'm not sure if they will replace again. Regardless, what good is an excellent fitting, excellent sounding headset, if the earpiece breaks. I have tried wearing it with the piece broken off, but it is not possible.

Unless you are VERY gentle with this headset, you probably want to steer clear and go with a different manufacturer and design that is not so fragile.

4.0 out of 5 stars Much better than Plantronoics, August 7, 2005
By
This review is from: Logitech Mobile Pro Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I had bought the Plantronics but was disappointed in the static. This is MUCH better, although a little uncomfortable around the back of the ear if you wear it longer than an hour or so. Overall I am pleased and would recommend it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Works great for a week...then, not so great, August 3, 2005
This review is from: Logitech Mobile Pro Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I went through two of these headsets, after about 2 weeks, I would start getting low-battery beeps after an hour or so of standby.
The headset would buzz to the person on the other end of the call, and I had to just dump it.
Logitech support was helpful, particularly when I called them from the headset and they heard the buzzing. They sent the first replacement right away, I didn't bother with replacing the second unit.

I like the way the headset fits on my ear; the "fork" thing seems to suit me better and is more positive than the over the ear hooks used by everybody else. The *problem* is that on my example the screw holding the fork together didn't work well and stripped its threads, so the fork fell apart. The headset works well electronically, though.
