For your notebook,

This is a nice wired notebook mouse. It's USB cable is a little on the short side, but I have a nice ammount of free play with the mouse cable. It is plugged into a rear USB port on my 15.4" Widescreen Toshiba A105. I wouldn't use this on my desktop PC, and find that the mouse is a bit on the small size (good for portability), but I wish it were a tad bit bigger. A friend that used my computer thought that it wasn't small enough. So that's a matter of prefrence.Setpoint software was not included with the packaging, so I had to download the latest drivers and setpoint program. Microsoft standard drivers do not give you the "full functionability" of the mouse. No middle click to zoom and no tilt side scrolling.

I needed a mouse for my notebook, which I use as my standard PC at home. Because of the desk configuration, I needed the cord to be a length similar to a regular (non-notebook) mouse. I called Logitech prior to ordering this mouse and was assured it was over 4 feet in length. When I got it, found it to be barely over 2 feet. I can't use it. Amazon was great about letting me return the mouse. I think Logitech makes a good mouse, but they need to include cord length in their documentation and provide accurate info via their tech support line.

First of all I would like to say that the mouse worked the first time without a hitch. However, there are two problems with this mouse.1) The USB cable on it is not long enough to plug into the left side of a laptop (a lot of laptops have USB ports on the left side-like my Compaq Presario). It cannot plug into the left side of the laptop and then extend around the laptop for use on the right side of the machine. For anyone who is right handed you have to put the cable directly underneath the laptop...and then there is barely enough room for the mouse to move around. So if your machine has a USB port on the left side of the machine, and you are right handed, forget this mouse. It's unbearably tight. 2) It is too small for an average hand. My hands are average size. Holding the mouse creates a side to side tension in my hand because I have to 'cuddle' the mouse to hang on to it. I'm sure that after several more days of use I would have a problem with my hand/muscles. I recommend this mouse only for children or people with very small hands and who have a USB port on the front or right side of their laptop. Otherwise, forget it. I further cannot understand why Logitech would fail to mention these unusual features on the product packaging. Shame on them for misleading the buyers.

Being a woman with small hands, I found this to be the PERFECT size for me, and the ergonomic shape is a bonus. It is absolutely THE most comfortable mouse I've ever had. I bought it for use with my desktop computer and wasn't surprised to find that the cable is too short--so I'll need an extender. I'm considering buying one with my own money to take into work--that's how much I like it!

If you're looking fora) a gaming mouse, b) a mouse with all the latest doo-dads (hyperscroll, microscroll, side buttons, etc.), c) a standard-sized desktop mouse, d) a supersmall portable notebook mouse, e) a mouse with a greater than 2 foot USB cable attachment, f) a mouse that will connect to a computer whose USB port is more than 2 feet away from your mousing hand, g) a cordless, wireless mouse, h) highly contoured, right-hand specific mouse, THEN THIS IS NOT THE MOUSE FOR YOU. This mouse has: left mouse button, right mouse button, side-tilting scroll wheel which is also a third button that can be pushed down to activate zoom. That's it. I use this mouse with my notebook which I use as my main computer. The notebook is on a rolling shelf which extends from a tiny, cramped armoire. The short cable is perfect for me and I don't mind it at all, although I am fortunate in that the USB ports on my notebook are on the side on which I mouse. A longer cable would only get in the way. Side buttons (forward, back) would've been great, but I tried other models that had this feature and they were all bad fits for me. I ended up returning an MX400 for instance (Amazon is great about returns). The scroll wheel is the best of the Logitech line as far as I'm concerned. It feels high quality and doesn't require excessive pressure to activate the zoom. I personally love the side tilt scroll on the wheel and use it all the time. I had a lot of trouble activating scroll-wheel zoom on the MX400. This mouse feels just great in my hand. It has a narrower "waist" just below the middle that I find really comfortable to hold. The size is also perfect for me. I use a "claw" style hold on my mouse rather than moving my whole arm. My hands are pretty large but I actually prefer this size mouse to the standard sized desktop mouse. I find the smaller size gives me greater control with less effort. It's not one of those tiny ultraportable notebook mice though, so that might be a concern for some. I personally have no difficulty sticking this mouse into my laptop bag and toting it around with me. I've had it for about a month but so far, no issues. It's been very durable and consistent so far. Of course, I'm not a gamer, I use this for working in Word, Excel, Firefox, Acrobat, and that's about it. Best of all, it's cheap, so I won't feel bad if it somehow gets damaged. The other expensive, fancypants mice all seem to have issues over time. The wireless signal cuts out, the hyperscroll wheel stops spinning freely due to crud buildup, the buttons are hard to activate or wear out over time, etc. I'm speaking from both experience and reading the forums over at Logitech as well as other Amazon reviews. Great mouse, after lots of research and searching, I think this is the mouse for me, and maybe for you too.

This mouse is very comfortable to use. Not too big or too small for a laptop and it fits my hand great. I don't like to use the keypads on a laptop, and this mouse is the best wired mouse I have found for use with a laptop. The wireless mouse I tried kept going dead and needed batteries replaced frequently. This mouse was shipped very prompt and I would purchase again from this seller. I give the mouse 5 stars and the seller 5 stars for the prompt shipping and the best price.

Initially, the V100 mouse 'blue screened' my Dell 700m laptop running XP PRO after swapping out my Logitech travelmouse. Confirmed it was an issue with the V100 mouse and my laptop setup; problem resolved after installing V100 driver. I incorrectly assumed the Logitech drivers were generic enough for all Logitech mice, but this is not so.The V100 mouse is much nicer than my old Logitech travelmouse; more functionality and better ergonomic feel. My other laptop mouse is a mighty mouse on my Macbook.

I've had this mouse for over two years now but have recently left it over at a friend's house and have decided she should keep it because she needs it more than I do. I've bought another logitech mouse to replace the last one and went with the logitech LS1 [...] because it was slightly thicker and I wanted to try something new.About the V100: The logitech V100 is an excellent traveling mouse (although I wish I could pack the cord in a little better though) while retaining important features like quick response time; handheld satisfaction (it is fine to hold for a long amount of time for as a student and a company assistant, I am online every day for 8 hours); and having the minimal amount of necessary buttons (I am happy with just the scroll and the left and right click - that is all I want from a mouse! I hate the clutter of extra buttons). Growing up with clunky 1990s desktop computers and their mice, I was worried about using smaller netbook mice, but the V100's size was not too small that I felt like I was working with a toy like other netbook mice. The feel of it was not too big nor too small.. it was sleek but had a sturdy feel to it. I have average woman hands, so maybe men may think it to be too small, I don't know.. my husband never complained about it and he's pretty picky about his electronics. The scroll button was not flimsy but gave a sturdy response every time. The one not so great part about this mouse is that the cord is 2 feet long.. I've never had too much of a problem with that but be warned that it probably wouldn't be ideal for desktop computer use. I had a Microsoft mouse which was super picky about moving the screen arrow unless I had it on a specific surface like a mousepad.. which, I am not going to carry a mousepad everywhere I go! I quickly took that mouse back.. The V100 will respond to any surface I have put it on. The only reason I decided not to go back to this model is only because I wanted to try something else.. but for the price and the quality, I would highly recommend the V100 or probably any corded logitech mouse because they really are amazing at making mice.

The mouse is very comfortable for desktop use if you like to grip your mouse instead of resting your hand on it. The middle wheel button spins easily but is stiff to press down, requiring enough pressure to sometimes spin the wheel when trying to just click. The cord is short and not ideal for computers under the desk or out of reach.I used this exclusively on a home desktop for about nine months before both buttons stopped working. My previous mouse lasted seven years. Maybe this one would've lasted longer without constant daily use? Keep a replacement mouse handy. -1 for unreliable middle wheel clicks. -1 for dying after only nine months. |
