Ok, so I just got a PSP3000 and needed some good protection. I am an adult with medium size men's hands, and, although I like that the PSP is small, I find it's almost too small for playing pleasure. In fact, when I first got the PSP3000, I was jammin' to God of War, side-steppin' and slashin' baddies with Kratos' blades when the PSP almost flipped out of my hands! Because the PSP Slim (2000 or 3000) has such a small form factor, if you have medium to large hands, you should definitely consider getting the Logitech case. The case is a clam shell design that fully protects the PSP from front to back and allows access for you to play the PSP while it rests within the case, therefore giving it a little more bulk for those of us adult PSP users. The upper part of the clam shell also folds back and doubles as a stand if you want to set your PSP on a table to play. Also, the case includes a template that you can use to cut out pictures, illustrations or just about anything you want and use as "wallpaper" inside the case. I'm a grown man and I didn't think I'd ever avail myself of this little feature, but lo and behold I've now got a nice little human skull illustration on my Logitech case that I downloaded for free from the Playgear Pocket Skins website. Lastly, the Logitech case is also very, very reasonably priced. That's my two cents. . .

When I ordered this on Amazon, I was hoping that it wouldn't be some sloppy redesign of the original PSP case. Well I am happy to say that this case lives up to the quality that was present in other Logitech cases from the other generations.
All of the ports have ample access room, except for the USB port on the top that requires for the PSP to be removed. Hard plastic covers the PSP from head to toe and the rubber fitment in the case cradles the PSP with no wiggle room. Logitech also sends out stencils with the case, allowing you to slip in any piece of artwork that you desire so that it is visible from the outside. The hinges are strong and they will hold the cover at whatever angle you like. When the cover is opened all the way, it acts as a stand that lets your PSP stand at a 45% angle that is good for displaying the console. The bottom of the case is also a neat little feature that exposes the "PSP" logo ring on the back of the PSP. Since I have the God of War: Red PSP, the combination of black and red go really well together. Overall, this is a great PSP case that not only protects the PSP, but makes sure that all of your essentials are accommodated. You could definitely take this on the road with you without hesitation and I recommend it to anyone who is willing to invest in the protection of their PSP.

Having already owned the original Playgear Pocket for the "phat" PSP, when I bought my slim, I was clamoring for Logitech to make a version for the new PSP model.
Just like the original playgear pocket this case provides excellent protection for your PSP, the outside is clear dense plastic, and your PSP fits snuggly inside within a rubberized casing that covers both the top and bottom of the system. Additionally, you can use the Playgear Pocket as a viewing station for movies and such by simply flipping the top to the back, thus standing the system up. Another cool aspect of the playgear pocket is that you can customize the cover to change up the look of your system. By removing the top inner rubber layer, you can place an image inside and then reinstall the rubber. Mind you, the image is one that you will have to find, print out and then cut to the shape of the cover, and in the package, Logitech supplies you with the template shape. Unfortunately it is here where I have to give the Playgear Slim its one fault. The template they give is NOT a precise fit. The lower portion of the template is not accurate and when you cut a design out using the template you will see that the lower indented areas are too short for the case, leaving some of the rubber visible. Now this is not a big fault, but its something that should not have happened and could have been avoided with some simple measuring on the part of Logitech. Im a big person on customization and looks so I had to mention this, because its really the only problem with this case. Also be advise that this will add some weight and bulk to the PSP, so if youre looking for something really lightweight and sleek, this might not be the case for you. But if you are looking for a multifunction case that is built like a tank, then look no further

I had the original Logitech case for the PSP 1000 and thought it was perfect. It provided great protection for my entire system.
Unfortunately, when I got the PSP Slim, I was out of luck. The original case was just too big and the PSP bounced around inside. The case Sony makes looks similar to the Logitech version and is a great alternative, but is too bulky for my daily gameplay needs. Nerf has a great case as well, but because it doesn't cover the UMD door (so you can leave the PSP in the case at all times) my PSP picked up nicks and scratches on the door. Finally, after a long wait, Logitech brings out the best case for my needs. It covers the entire PSP, where it fits snugly and locks tight when closed. It's also slim enough for me to enjoy regular gameplay without having to remove the system, and the door holds itself in place regardless of how wide or narrow you open it up, which can be helpful when sunlight is a problem. It can also accommodate the larger extended life batteries that Sony has since discontinued. The so-called customizable face leaves a bit to be desired since it basically asks you to print whatever you want and then cut it to fit between the rubber & polycarbonate. It's not something I'm going to do since I think the case looks fine as it is.

Great protection, but it isn't very comfortable,
This review is from: Logitech PSP PlayGear Pocket - Slim (Accessory)
I spent a while researching psp cases and I came upon several people suggesting this logitech PlayGear pocket case so I decided to pick one up and I'm glad I did.
First of all, you should note that this is a PSP system case only. This means that it does NOT have a slot for your UMDs, memory stick or anything else. This is not necessarily a bad thing, in fact if it did have that much more space then it would lose it's compact size and become much more bulky. But if you're looking for something that can hold your PSP and all it's accessories then this is not the case for you. The case has a great hard plastic shell that will protect your PSP from the normal drops and scratches that most PSPs have to endure. The inside plastic mold holds the psp slim perfectly in place and does not allow it to move or wiggle around at all while inside. You can even prop up your PSP while it is inside by opening and positioning the top part of the case behind it, which is a great little feature if you like to watch movies or videos on your PSP. One of the big draws to this particular case is that it has a space just beneath the clear outside shell so you can print out your own skin and insert it into the case to customize it to you're liking. Logitech even includes a plastic template with the case so you can cut a picture to the exact size of the space allowed in the case. If you don't feel like making your own skin you can just do a quick google search and you'll find plenty of skins that other people have made specifically for this case. Just print it and cut it out. The case leaves certain parts of the PSP uncovered, like the headphone jack, the shoulder buttons and the power switch(but not the usb port) which is great because it doesn't force you to take it out of the case to play or charge you're PSP. My only real complaint is that, while it is advertised to have a "play-in-case design", it is still very uncomfortable to play games on your PSP while it is in the case mostly because of the opening for the power switch. All in all, this is probably one of the best protective case's for the PSP slim and the skin customization is a brilliant and original idea which really puts this case way above the competition, but if you're looking a case that you can comfortably play your PSP in, then you should probably look elsewhere.

The PSP Phat Logitech Case was made awhile back and it did not fit the Slim PSP. Logitech has answered our calls and made a slim version on the case. Overall, the case is great. The psp fits snuggly in the case and provides great protection. The cover also flips 270 degrees so you can use it as a stand. All buttons can be accessed and the case locks shut, so the case won't open unexpectedly. The memory card slot and the USB connection will be blocked, so you will have to take out the PSP to access those areas. If you have an extended battery, you can also use this case. The best part about this product is the able to customize it with your very own image. You can place the images on the back of the case between the rubber and the case outside. They will provide you with a template to use so you can print out your own creations. I personally recommend using an ex-acto knife to cut out the images. Lastly, your PSP can nest itself inside the case and can be used as a grip..it works really well.
Pros: +Great Protection (Inside + Outside) +Small Enough To Be Taken Anywhere +Customize Images +Buttons are All Accessible (Expect for the WLAN Switch/Memory Stick/USB) +Can Be Used as a Stand +PSP Can Nest Inside and Be Used as a Grip +Looks Very Nice Cons: -Template That Comes Inside Package Isn't 100% Accurate There aren't many cons out there to deal with this product. If you need the convenience and protection, I would highly recommend getting this product!

Since I bought my PSP-Slim in June, I was using the Sony PSP Slim case. This case was bulky and it defeated the purpose of owning a Slim PSP. I just received the Logitech PlayGear Pocket Slim today and it's great. The PSP fits well. The case "hugs" the PSP so that it doesn't rattle or move around at all. All the necessary holes are there for the headphone/remote jack and power adapter connection. The PSP is easily playable while still in the case. I highly recommend this case for any PSP-2000 owners.

The slim psp fits this perfectly. I have no problem playing games while the case is still on. The plastic and padding seem like it will protect the psp well. The case doesn't pick up finger prints. The only bad part is it will add some size to the psp. This will be a problem it were going to carry it in your pocket. I always keep my psp in a bookbag so that isn't a problem for me. One last thing, all the ports are easy to get at

This case is engineered to perfection.
It's comfortable, lightweight, unobtrusive, goregous - in fact, I think the PSP looks BETTER with the case on than off, the top half can be used to block the sun and let you view the screen, the PSP logo fits snugly in the back, the case closes and stays shut with a satisfying click, and all of the ports can easily be accessed (except for the Wifi and USB on the PSP3000). As an added bonus (as many others have said before me) you can use the top half to stand the PSP up to view movies comfortably (will probably be useful on a plane, although I'm not much about watching movies on the PSP --- yet.) Simply put, this is THE best case for the PSP. It improves the ergonomics, it makes it feel -- more expensive, and while using it, you actually feel as it performs somehow FASTER with the case (although I know this is all mental). This case combined with a screen protector is an absolutely solid choice. Don't even think twice, get it, if you have a PSP2000 or PSP3000. You won't regret it. |
